Default YS-45 problem (pump?)

I have a YS 45 that I recently took out of storage and replaced the bearings and gaskets on. This is my third one of tese so I am somewhat familiar with the engine. But Ican only guess I did something wrong. The pump seems to be pushing pressure out of both lines. So it will run briefly after a prime, but the fuels is not down the intake line. If I pull the intake line off of the pumpduring the brief time the engin is running, it is pumping plenty of fuel. But when I put it back on, nothing is moving. Then when the engine stalls, suddenly the carb fills up with fuel from the presurized tank. For grins I switched out the lines and I goet the same result. Of course with the carb full, it will start right up, but the stalls from starvation.

I am sure I made a bonehead mistake. What would cause this?

Without having my 45 in front of me, my first thoughts are open up your regulator and take a look at it....is the plunger plunging? Did you put the housing on backwards?

I guess the plunger is plunging. I thought Movement on the diapham went up and returned to resting state since the screw in the bottom limits how far down it goes. The housing was on correctly. Do yo have an exploded view of the engine and pump? I think that might help me a little.

Thanks!

I found an exploded view of the pump. I think I have found the problem. I think I have a spring inverted in the pump. I'll tet it out tomorrow.

Thanks!
