Default YSFZS63 question.

details
plane not flown yet until i can have some confidence to fly it... till then grounded

brand new YS engine mounted inverted on plane.
wild cat 30% heli fuel
12x 7 apc prop
os f plug
320cc MK fuel tank

run 3 tanks so far

issues :

1) unable to idle with 1 turn out or 4 turn out.
2) regulator screw is flush ( the silver metal can with plastic black clips )
3) hi-needle : 2 turns out.

engine starts at 1/4 throttle after priming it for 10 turns.
warm engine at half throttle for 1 min
bring the engine to full throttle : tach at 11000 rpm ... lean 3 clicks and the engine rpm drops rapidly to 10000
rich it back to 2 turns the ramp stable at 11000

lower slowy to 1/4 throttle... engine surging fast slow fast slow.
lower to idle. engine just slow down and died..( low end 1.5 turns)

restart engine at 1/4 throttle : engine surging again... fast slow fast slow
power to full throttle : lots of smoke and does not peak.. then lean 2 clicks and it goes to 11200 rpm.. then lower to idle slowly.
engine slows down and died at 2 turns low) this goes on all the way to 4 turns

tried to to turn the regulator 1/2 turn out anti clockwise and the engine got more smoke and wont idle.
turn the regulator to lean 1/2 turn from flush : engine would not even start.
need some advise as this is my first 4 stroke ... have only been running os50 and never try 4 stroke.

i heard the low end is a air bleed screw. if so if i close the throttle all the way will the engine idle? or do i need to trim until the engine idle then adjust the low end?

how do you crack open the metal regulator to check for dirt if any? its seems non serviceable.

by the way i'm in singapore

cheers.

Send the engine back to YS in Japan. It has a bad regulator.
