YS53 Crank Broke
Hi,
I have a YS53. I nosed over on a landing and not even broke the prop but seemed to have bent the crank shaft!~( It was visable bent when I turned the engine over by hand. I did not start it. Then I took off the spinner and prop that by the way were in almost perfect shape. I grabbed the crank and pushed it the other way of the bend and it snapped
. I want to repair this if I can. What should I do? There is a man at the field that replaced his broken 53 crank with a larger/stronger 63 crank. Is this possible? What would it cost to send it in for this procedure? I really liked the performance this engine gave. Any help would be great.
