YS 110-S
Troy,
When was the YS 110-S released. I am thinking of picking up a slightly used 110 that was purchased new 2 years ago. It only has a few tanks through it and I can get it for a fair price. I haven't seen any pics yet to help id the engine, if it was new 2 years ago is it likely a 110 or a 110-S??

RE: YS 110-S
The 110FZ-S was released in About March of 2007.
If it is 2 yrs old it a 110FZ not a 110FZ-S
This measn it doesn't have the crankshaft ring, and has the normal regulator assembly not the remote regulator assembly of the "S" series of engines. Also the "S" series of engines both 63S and 110S have a newer sleeve-less head configuration. The jug is treated to make it the sleeve or cylinder without the use of a steel sleeve the 110S is lighter and will run a little cooler. This is a major reason the new 110S has a little more power. The cooler properties of the head, the crankshaft ring and the fact the external regulator keeps the fuel cooler before sending it to the engine rsults in the extra power.
Its a great engine the 110FZ just not the latest rendition. The difference is pretty minor. The 110S does have a little more power becasue fo the reasons I mention above.
