Default Carb settings

I have a ZDZ40RV in a Wildhare 28%Extra. The engine is about 5 years old, but with very little run time on it. I've started flying it again quite a bit this summer. When you set the carb needles on the ground for the engine to be right it is burbling in flight. If you lean it to get rid of the burble in flight it seams lean on the ground. The Carb is fairly close to the firewall 5/8" or there abouts. I figure it is an airflow problem. Do i need to cut a hole in the firewall, or is there a better solution? Thanks, Tom

Default RE: Carb settings

Yes, use a 1-1/2" hole saw and cut a hole in the firwall. Be sure to install a piece of screen over the hole from the inside.
Thanks,
