new 50 rv
Mike ,
Just got the motor via BB truck.
Thanks for the excellant sevice.I will be ordering more .....
The engine has the Walbro 176A carb.I notice on this site there seems to be a starting problem with that carb,do you need to replace it now?
Do I need to baffle this motor on a round cowl Kangke Waco?or is there enough airflow on that type of cowl?
Thanks
Mike

Mike,
When the ZDZ is mounted inverted the cylinder will line up with the air duct in the bottom of the Waco fuselage, it will cool just fine.
The plane in the assembly instructions is my personal aircraft and the ZDZ has never missed a beat.

RE: new 50 rv
I noticed the sloping cutout behind the cowl. This does look like a good suction feature.Since this isa 50 cc 5 hp engine rather than the 40cc in your instruction book. Will the firewall stand up to the power as is or will it need strenghening?
What engine mount is recommended for this engine/airframe combo?I assume regular blind nuts are not strong enough.
Will the engine need further offset for the size engine as you indicate in your instructions you have a 1 deg offset.
Thank you

The firewall will not have a problem with the 50
Large body blind nuts will work fine.
Don't change the offset.
Be carefull with full throttle, the Vne is around 85 MPH and you will be more than capable of exceeding that.
