Default Question for Mike - ZDZ80

I have a walbro carb - is this screw the one I'm supposed to cut off or just take out? Is this the throttle stop screw? Also, if I just take it out will there be any air leaks etc? I can't see down there to see if there are any ports into this area...

Thanks!

Default Question for Mike - ZDZ80

Well Davey, looks like RCS isn't going to answer your question.

That screw is the idle stop. I have the same one on the Walbro carb that's on my new ZDZ 80 and I'm not going to remove it. No need to. Where did you get the information that you were supposed to remove it or cut it off.

By the way, your photo takes up way too much memory and really takes a long time to load on my land line modem equipped computer. There is a very good jpeg resizer program available for download and it's free.

Default Question for Mike - ZDZ80

Hi Ken,

Thx for the reply. Everywhere I've read about setting up the zdz80 they say remove or cut off the idle stop screw. I'm assuming it restricts the movement of the butterfly if you leave it in place - possibly affects low idle or gets in the way....

thx, image fixed.

Ok I will remove it - and what advantage does it have in removing it?

Thanks

Default Question for Mike - ZDZ80

Absolutely nothing except providing full range of motion for throttle servo control.

Default Question for Mike - ZDZ80

Mike,

Ok, I also have the exact same setup on my walbro carb ZDZ80RV. You are saying to completely remove the idle stop screw and just leave the empty hole. Correct? Also, should I mark the position of the throttle arm before I remove the idle stop to know where idle is suppose to be.

Thanks,
