    exploded crankcase

    HI
    I HAVE A ZDZ 40 THAT I WAS FLYING LAST SEASON WHEN I HEARD A LOUD BANG AND IT DIED WHAN I LANDED I NOTICED TWO HOLES IN THE CRANKCASE AND DIDNT KNOW WHAT CAUSED IT SO I WAS FLYING OTHER PLANES THE REST OF THE SEASON THEN I READ A POST THAT SAID SOMETHING INSIDE BREAKS LOOSE AND CAUSES THIS I AM INCLUDING TWO PICTURES SO YOU CAN SEE THE DAMAGE AND LET ME KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO ABOUT IT THANK YOU

    Mike,
    Obvious screw damages, you can see threads.
    I would suggest sending in for eval and repair estimates.
    It appears like an older model with Bing carb installed.
