Zdz 80 cylinder pitted

Hello
I have a brand new ZDZ 80. This is boxed and not run.

when viewing the cylinder liner from inside the exhaust port, there are a number of large pits in the cylinder wall.
These are casting inclusions not removed during machining.

These are approx .5 to 1mm wide and have significant depth. I can see 3x in the small area I can see through the exhaust port.

Ive emailed ZDZ directly but have failed to get a reply.

I still have the original recipe for this engine and it was 515 Euro- not cheap.

I know it's outside of warranty but this is cleary
a manufacturing fault.
Any advice?

Hello
As an update, I didn't get anything back by email, so phoned the factory in CZ.
I spoke to Michal. He agreed it wasn't ideal, and only affected the earlier engines. This engine is over 12 years old, but only just came out of the box this week.

He said that it would have no noticeable effect on power and said I should just run it
as it is, and see how I get on.
He said if I encountered any problems they would sort me out under warranty.

Im reasonably happy, if it runs and starts for the first gallon or so without problem I'll consider it something to live with.

As I said, he said this is no longer an issue with their cylinders as they have changed supplier.
