ZDZ 50 RV 3/4 throttle and beond dies out?
 

I just installed a 50 rv into a Hanger 9 Extra 260, It starts and runs great. When I throttle upto 3/4 or higher the engine wants bog and quit. If I half choke it will run good. All lines seem to flow well. I know the motor runs great I had it in another plane a week ago and it ran great with a 20/10 prop. The only difference is I'm using 22/10/ Whats the deal?

A 22x8 is a better prop for the 50RV. You might be experiencing too much prop load and the carb cannot keep up. You must ALWAYS richen the mixture when going to a larger prop.

I found you exactly right. I richened the high side needle 1/4 to 1/2 turn and the motor came back. 22/12 seems to be too much bite, getting only 4900rpm. I picked up a 22/10 and will be trying it today. I'm going to place an order for a 22/8 and see what that yields. Thanks Big Mike.
