ZDZ 80 Ignition Repair - Warranty?
 

I have a ZDZ 80 with a dead ignition (lasted 4 flights). The ignition is approx. 1 year old but I do not have the original sales invoice. I’m I out of luck for warranty service?

FWIW, I know the ignition failed as it would not generate a spark. I'm currently running the ignition from my ZDZ 50 in its place. The engine fired right up after swapping ignitions.

Hi,
if you bought the motor from RCShowcase you might be in luck. If you ask them real nice, they might be able to look up your purchase and see the invoice.
I copied the Warranty info from their website for you. Give it a shot, send it back to them and ask for replacement; you've got nothing to lose. BTW, you did use the proper battery didn't you? Using the wrong voltage battery will cause the ignition to fail- ask one who knows [:o].

What about the Warranty and replacement parts?

ZDZ engines are warranted against defects in workmanship for a period of 42 months from the original date of sale from RC Showcase, Inc.

ZDZ ignition units are warranted against defects in workmanship for a period 36 months from the original date of sale from RC Showcase, Inc.

I'm using a 4cell 2700Mah Nimh pack from Cermark. I'll box up the unit and send it in.
