    ParkZone Vapor RTF/BNF

The new ParkZone Vapor is an exciting innovation from Horizon Hobby that offers both convenience and ease of flight. It is truly an ultra-micro flyer for everyone! The Vapor is small enough, and slow enough to be flown in a basement, garage, living room, or other indoor spaces as well as outdoors in low wind conditions.

The Vapor comes in a Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version that includes a 3-channel DSM2 transmitter or a Bind-N-Fly (BNF) version that allows experienced pilots to utilize their own DSM2 transmitter.

The charger and batteries are all included inside the box, making it easy to get the Vapor off the ground. The Vapor is the second member of ParkZone’s tremendous Etomic family of ultra-micro aircraft. Its carbon fiber composition represents the ultimate in lightweight design, helping it deliver the best in flight quality, value and, most importantly, fun. Its single-cell Li-Po battery charges in approximately 20 minutes and gives you extended flight times of nearly 15 minutes, while 3-channel control provides the precision needed for flying in those tight spaces indoors. Featuring the state-of-the-art looks and instant enjoyment people love about ParkZone’s products, the Vapor will be a stylish and unique addition to your fleet, or the perfect introduction to the world of RC flight.

    Test Flying / Summary

Watch the ParkZone Vapor in action (15MB)

The video of the Vapor is only my second flight. I added 30% exponential to both rudder and elevator controls but kept the throws at full. I think the video will speak for itself and show that the Vapor is truly an impressive micro-flyer!

Although the Vapor is recommended for intermediate level flyers, it is fairly rugged and should pose little problem for a lesser experienced pilot to fly with some guidance. Flying the Vapor outside over a grassy area in little to no wind conditions can be enjoyed by all skill levels.

I have one word. AWESOME! I want one now. And does that thing do loops and barrel rolls too, or is it strictly just cruising around your backyard?

I have one and for me, all it will do is go left, right,up,and down. I am sure if it were capable of loops and rolls Greg would have demonstrated it. A total waist of $100.00 !

Loops and rolls? I have one, and it flies up/down/left/right as Bassfish said... you can also get it to prop hang for a short while. Flying outside in still air or a very gentle breeze, inside in a fair sized room are both fine - excitement wears off pretty quick I would suggest, but a nice change from parkflyer warbirds :-)

We fly indoor each fortnight, and I showed up with a Vapour. Next meeting there were 4, all flying at once. These things are even 3D capable (slightly) and are very addictive. I expect to see more at our meetings. We have already started indoor pylon with them, next time we might try combat :-)

I have had mine for about a month now and it can loop and with care do inverted flight (LOTS of down ele) no rolls as no ailerons. funny to watch the wing flex with the g of the manoeuvre. Short prop hangs are very possible still experimenting with the CofG to improve these.

I have been flying this plane alot. I can do loops & have even managed inverted flight. To fly inverted, start with 15-20 ft altitude push over into an outside loop & then when inverted level out, its hilarious to watch & it doesnt like it. I did it at the flying field & managed to fly inverted 15 ft. then it rolled out. Everyone was laughing. You can do it. Hovering is easy in a slight breeze. Be careful of any tree branches because this thing will stick to any vegetation like velcro. They recommend sliding the battery back from the front wing mount about 12-13mm for proper CG. I found better control & speed by sliding the battery all the way forward. Also you can flatten the wing some by sliding only the rear wing mount back slightly. I have a blast with this thing. I live on a farm & if we fly them at dusk the bats chase them ..
