    RCUniverse.com - HUBSAN X4 Pro

    By: Geoff Barber

So you've mastered the basics of small multi-rotor flight, and you're looking to get into aerial photography. That's great, but what's next? Where do you look for the best possible machine at a reasonable price - what IS a reasonable price??? Well here's probably the best answer for you - look to Hobbico! Hobbico has a wide variety of multi-rotor platforms for aerial photography, and many include everything you need in one box! Hobbico's flagship multi-rotor is the new HUBSAN X4 Pro Quad-copter. With two versions available, there's one to fit your budget!

A sleek, styled quad-copter available in an FPV or Deluxe setup. What you plan to use the X4 for will determine which version you'll want. The Quad itself is the same for both versions, just the accessories included will differ. Either way, you're going to receive a great flying quad with lots of great standard programming. Included on both models are: GPS autopilot, Programmable waypoint flight, Auto-return to home, and a 1080p digital camera. Both versions come with a transmitter, but that will vary between the FPV and deluxe versions. Both transmitters are 2.4 gHz for RC with 5.8 gHz on the FPV/transmission to transmitter.

The Pro deluxe transmitter is a work of art, incorporating an Android operating system and a large color video display - it's like having a tablet embedded between the transmitter sticks! The FPV version still has a nice, quality transmitter, but its color screen is smaller in size and does not have the Android operating system. In either case you'll be pleased with the comfortability and functionality of the transmitter!

Also varying for the different versions are the camera mounts. The Pro Deluxe version receives a 3-axis gimbal mount, while the Pro FPV version receives a single-axis mount. Both are vibration isolated by rubber mounts to help capture stunning photos and video.

A lightweight 1080P HD digital camera is included with both versions - with up to an hour of recording time per battery charge, you'll be able to get plenty of high quality photos and video clips per charge! This camera is connected to the X4 via a cable, and offers the ability to take photos and start and stop video recording from either transmitter! Video output is in mp4 format, making it useable on most devices, while photo output is standard jpg format. This is one nice camera - the last video will give you a look at the quality of video footage that can be recorded with this HD camera!

So, you're still a little unsure about putting this Quad in the air? Why? The FPV version includes a parachute - that's right, a PARACHUTE! This parachute is also an accessory available for the X4 Pro Deluxe. If the Quad banks past and angle of 80°, the 'chute automatically deploys, saving the X4 from a potentially bad situation. By design, the X4 will land upside down with the parachute to protect the gimbal and camera from damage.

Well, there you have it - a quick look at some of the great features of the new HUBSAN X4 Pro FPV and Deluxe models. Go on out and get yours today!
