Just like a bird, the Avitron V2.0 flaps its wings while also using them to steer. The micro-drive system keeps weight down and provides the power to flap those wings, which creates forward/upward thrust to propel the Avitron V2.0 through the air. The patented steering system uses bending of the wings themselves to adjust the amount of thrust coming off each wing individually. This gives excellent control and responsiveness. Pair that with the adjustable tail and you get an easy to fly bionic RC bird that will provide hours of enjoyment.

Weighing in at just 8.7g flying weight, every piece of the final assembly was taken into account for weight purposes. The liquid crystal polymer and carbon fiber wing struts all the way down to the self-lubricating polyacetate materials give the Avitron V2.0 long lasting performance. The wings are lightweight, tear-resistant Mylar which contribute to great performance and strength. The drive system has been upgraded for efficiency and noise reduction, both and improvement over the original Avitron. Years of research and hard work payed off in the development of the XTIM Avitron V2.0. Prior to the V2.0 was the original bird, which has been improved to create the V2.0 Every aspect of the design was taken into account to acheive such a light, ready-to-fly airframe that represents a life-size bird. The ultra-micro receiver/speed control combo unit weighs in at just 0.6g and gives precise control of motor speed and the steering mechanism all in a PCB the size of a postage stamp.
The Avitron V2.0 is powered by an upgraded micro Lithium-Polymer battery capable of hundreds of charge cycles. Li-Po technology is leaps and bounds over other battery configurations and contributes to keeping the weight down but provides the power needed for the Avitron V2.0 to fly. The ultra-micro controller has a built in voltage cut-off so there are no worries of damaging the internal battery. Two ultra-micro size brushed motors are responsible for the "throttle" and steering of the Avitron V2.0 and were hand picked from quality motor manufacturers specifically for this application. Paired with Li-Po technology in an ultra-light airframe to give the Avitron V2.0 a long lasting performance lifespan.
