I
began my model flying at the age of ten with the inspirational
help of my father and Jeff Boerboon. Jeff built my aircraft
for eight years. Both my father and Jeff provided support
and coaching through the road to Accomplishment.
I
started flying the Full Scale Extra 300L at the age of
15. I was fortunate to fly with Patty Wagstaff for my
16th Birthday. This gave me what I needed to get 'the
bug' for flying precision aerobatics. I then started helping
Jeff Whiteaker and Craig Fordem with oil Changes and cleaning
hangars in trade for flying time at Boulder City Airport.
Since then, I have totaled 500 hours in the Extra 300/200
line of aircraft. I competed in the Appale Valley Gold
Cup in April of 2001 where I placed second in the Intermediate
Category .02% behind first.

My
model competition career began in the Spring of 1999.
I was fortunate to win the US Nationals in 2000 for Freestyle,
and again in 2003 for Freestyle and Unlimited. I placed
second at the 2003 World Freestyle Championships behind
my mentor QuiQue Somenzini. I called for QuiQue at the
1999 and 2000 TOC's. QuiQue showed me what it took to
become the best, and with this inspiration and help from
many people I hope to one day be the Best.
Of
course this road will be very long and very difficult.
In 2001, I met Tony Russo whom has been the man responsible
for getting me flying and keeping me on track as a great
caller. Robert Godfrey has also been a great help on this
road as well. This accomplishment has been aided greatly
by many wonderful friends and sponsors, without your help
it wouldn't be possible. Of course, the main sponsor and
girlfriend, Amy!
