Some of you may remember this airplane rebuild here on RC Universe. I picked up this airplane after it suffered a wing dowel departure from the wing on the first or second flight. I painstakingly rebuilt the fuselage of the plane from the wing root forward and it has been hanging flight ready from the ceiling of my garage for the past 2 years.
With my boys now 12 years old, other activities have taken up my flying time not to mention that the club I belong to does not have a field that we can access at this time.
Aeroworks P-51D Mustang DLE 55 JTEC Pitts Muffler XOAR 22 x 8 Propeller 5 Parabolic aluminum spinner JR 8411 on Throttle Solar D772 servos on the control surfaces (2 elevator, 2 ailerons, 2 flaps) JR matchbox for the elevator servos AR9100 DSM2 RX with 3 satellite receivers Zippy 2200 lipoly batteries (x2) for the RX LiFE source 2100 battery for ignition. UP-2 air valve with twin air tanks that control the main gear doors, main gear and tailwheel retract Fuselage was recovered in the Petie 3rd scheme using graphics from Callie's.
There are couple of areas on minor hangar rash on this airplane, but otherwise it would be ready to fly with a few more hours of cosmetic work. The underwing scoop needs to be more securely fastened. I never did reinstall the wing fillets on the fuselage as I was not able to obtain them from Aeroworks and I ran out of talent and time to make them look good from scratch.
This plane is a local pickup only. NO shipping. I will drive a reasonable distance (reasonable to me is ~40 miles) to meet.
