    Item Description:

AMAZING 1.8X AEROMASTER + RADIO complete ( COMBO DEAL) originally designed and built by Tony Wilford. Tony was a founding member of the Delaware R/C club and a contributing editor of RC Modeler magazine and designed and built some amazing planes. I acquired this a while back and completely removed all of it's covering, reglued many joints, replaced some fuel soaked wood ( very small amount) and completely recovered the entire plane. The interwing wires were also replaced with fresh ones as were the wheels. I also repowered it with a DLE 120 twin that allows vertical flight right after takeoff. This plane is a JOY to fly and takes off and lands like it is on autopilot. I put an IGyro in it but it doesn't really need that ( does fly better in winds though)
All servos are HD Digital Futaba and it has a dual battery powerbox system as well. I still have the original Wilford plans that come with the plane so it could be duplicated or spare parts made if ever needed

    Specifications

    SPAN = 87

    FUSE LENGTH = 82

The plane has about 20 flights on it since the rebuild and the DLE starts easily but I don't think it is 100% broken in yet but close This plane will perform any manuver you can think of!

    Videos here>>>.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUWsmORN-mI
    and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TdtDHOzfTU

NOTE instead of building 2 boxes ( yes 1 for the fuse and 1 for the wings and all that expense..) I will be willing to drive up to 500 miles to meet up with a buyer for delivery....

NOW INCLUDES a FUTABA T14 SG Transmitter so you have a completely ready to fly airplane

the upper wing is held on with 4 1/4-20 bolts. I do this by placing the wing on the ground on top of a blanket. Then I place the fuse on top of that lining up the bolt holes with the clips on the cabanes and install the 4 bolts. You can also tilt the fuse forward so it rests on the prop and then hold the top wing over the cabanes and put the 4 bolts in that way either way is easy. Next I install 1 strut under each side of the top wing by screwing them into the appropriate hole in the wing, also there is a flying wire that gets held on by each strut. Next the bottom wing goes on, it has a centering tab in the front an 2 screws at the back. The last thing to do is install 2 screws that hold the left and right struts in, and again there are flying wires that get trapped under these struts. The whole procedure takes 5-6 mins and can be done by one person. The top wings ailerons have 2 connectors for the upper ailerons that get attached to corresponding connectors on the rear top sides of the cabane assy. The bottom wing has a simple 2 servo connector that has to be pushed together as you install the bottom wing. It is self locking. If you want additional pictured of all this just ask

Hi, thx for the info. Could you explain how that single strut type outer cabane fastens to the wings? I have never seen that style, always the "N" style on my planes.

I'm reading and rereading your info. Is there a screw that goes thru the wing on one end of that single strut?

I've watched the you tube video and see that the plane flys very well with the twin 60cc. I'm a fan of more power but I'm a little concerned about that much power with the method of wing attachment.

The top of the strut has a 1/4/20 screw epoxied in at an angle. SO you just screw this into the bottom of the top wing where there is a threaded bore in a hardwood block. Just before screwing it in you have to place the wingwire attacment over the screw before you insert the screw into the bore... simple. Then when you place the bottom wing on, you insert another screw into a bore on the wing, this protrudes up so it can be screwed into to a bore in the bottom of the strut.. it all goes together quickly

I only use full power for takeoff and vertical climbs, otherwise I'm at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. The plane is not that heavy and overall wingloading is low. Anyway that's what the throttle is for

I understand, Thx for all the info. Lastly on the engine again. Why so much more power, believe me I like extra power, you can always throttle back.LOL. but how about that big engine and the load on the firewall. Any concerns?

If you do purchase this plane, and since we are about 200 miles apart. I would be willing to deliver this plane directly instead of the traditional method of building boxes, shipping via truck etc. I have build many boxes and have successfully shipped that way.. however this plane would require 2 boxes, one for the wing and 1 for the fuse. SO I would rather just deliver.. thanks

I'm not sure If you got my previous message so I will repeat
at $1500 I cannot include the transmitter with this deal.SO if you still want the plane at 1500 it's yours with a down payment of $500 via paypal and the balance at our meeting. I can only accept cash, OR a US Postal money order no checks . Also included with this plane is the gas container with pump that I used and the chock set that keeps the plane anchored in my trailer ( I forgot to put this in the ad text. ALSO note if you will not be using the Futaba 14 ch receiver that is in the plane I can take it out and you can deduct another $100 from the price. thanks
