After a very very difficult decision process, I've decided to part ways with my highly sentimental 1980 VINTAGE KRAFT Sport Series 4-Channel system. This radio system belonged to a very dear friend of mine and it was passed on to me over 10 years ago. I've kept it boxed in dry non-smoking storage ever since.
The gear has been well used - I can attest to that; however, it's been well loved and cared for. My friend used the system in two and only two aircraft that I know of, which was a SIG Kavalier and a Carl GoldBerg Gentle Lady. He flew the planes relentlessly, crashed the Kavalier to bits, and then stopped flying RC ever since.
As shown in the photos, the TX is in nearly mint condition w/ no scratches, mars, or dents in the case. I've tested the electronics and charged the battery, which seems to work. As far as the rest of the gear is concerned, though, I do NOT know whether it is still functional or not. The wires to the battery box seem to be broken and it looks like a Dean's type connector was put on the switch harness. I haven't tried to replace the original Rx battery.
One of the servos looks to be cracked (see photo) otherwise the other servos look to be in good shape.
I'm sure that someone with a good electronics background could readily bring this system back to life, but that someone isn't me. I would love to put it on my shelf of vintage engines & gear and will likely do so if nobody wants to buy it. By the way, please don't ask me to split up the system to sell for a cheaper price. It belongs together and needs to stay together.
SO....there you have it. In these days of 2.4GHz nobody wants to fly with the "old" stuff but for us old-timers we have a lot of fond memories of using the KRAFT systems, which at the time were state-of-the-art.
