I built this B17G for competition, it is detailed almost to the max. It is 10'2, built from Bob Holman plans. It has flaps and Likes electric retracts. All of the lights and all three turrets work. The two round turrets take 7 seconds to make a full revolution. I just restored almost the whole plane. When I originally built it, it had fiberglass over the wood and was covered in ultracoat and presto. Over the years it needed some recovery, so all was removed and replaced; it also received new paint and markings. It was flown with OS-40FSR's, and now has all new OS-SF46's; broken in, Model is 36lbs and has a one-piece wing that just fits in a mini van. The pictures of the plane in the air are from Monster Planes. This plane has won many trophies. I have built one just like this for the Eighth Air Force Museum in Savannah Georgia in April of 1998. In the late 1970's, I built a model for the Smithsonian as well, and over a hundred planes since then. I have also been featured in National Geographic in the late 1970's.
