The owners instruction manual is pictured in the ad. So, yes it does. It operates on 4 AA batteries. That would 6V. I'm sure that Nicads could be used ,there is a charging plug,no charger came with the unit. A 6V charger can probably be found at Goodwill. I may have one in my box of chargers. If the charger is a concern,I'll try to find one to send with it. However, it couldn't be used unless nicads are replaced in the unit. Charging alklyine batteries with explode them Thanks, Jim
