    Item Description:

Finanlly, I am selling my beloved Aero that I wrote an article about in the the German magazine (FMT - Bauen und Fliegen) in 2009. The airplane has never been in a crash of any kind. Very few signs of use - it is practically like new. A dream of an airplane for all of you who love radial engines and those gorgeous airplanes of the golden age|. Just check out the surface detail! The original positive was covered in real aluminium and riveted. You have to actually touch it to believe that it is not aluminium! Even more astonishing I find the fabric covered parts. The structure of the fabric, the receding caused by the shrinking process - hard to believe that it is all molded composite fibre..

Do check out my video on youtube. If this link does not work, just copy and paste the https-code into your browser. If that still doesn't work, search for Aero A-102 for Ebay

The airplane flies perfectly - a dream. Listen to the sound of that Seidel radial!

By the way, the engine has never been in contact with nitro-methane! After each run I ran it dry (empty the tank, then keep starting it until no more internal combustion occurs - no Methanol residue in the cylinders.) After that I filled some preservation oil. every couple of weeks I have turned the prop through to make sure that the spring loads of the valves rockers are evenly distributed over time.

If you feel apprehensive about running a Seidel Radial: I am here to help. I have a lot of experience with Seidels and I even have a number of spare parts stashed away that I can help you out with.

    About the Aero A-102:
The Aero A-102 was designed in the mid-30ies as a prototype for a Czech attack airplane by Aero, továrna letadel Dr. Kabeš (famous for it's L-39 Albatros jet trainer). However, it was well behind it's time and still speaks the design language of the Golden Twenties. Just consider that cantilevered, low wing airplanes with retractable landing gears and water-cooled engines were just around the corner. For instance, the Hawker Hurricane's maiden flight was 1935! Consequently, only two prototypes were built and the airplane never saw mass production.

Hello Roy, let's establish e-mail contact so I can send you more pictures easily. You'll see my adress in the "from-line", hopefully...
Have you looked at the video? This shows you the condition of the airplane in detail. It is as good as new. No damages other than the ones shown in the video which are very miniscule. (Left landing gear fairing small kink, right wheel cover fixed). As for shipping: I would have to build a sturdy box, which I can do. I can take the landing gear off. For that I would have to take the wire bracing off, which I can do. You would just have to re-install it, wich is a no-brainer - very easy. That way I could pack the whole thing very well into a box of about 160 cm length, 60X60 cm hight/width. The whole process - packing and shipping I could do for CAN$ 500.--

By the way, I've been to London, since I have friends in Muskoka, and her mother lives in London. Been all over the place there and hold a sea-plane license that I earned on Lake Rosseau. What's more, I had an F86 Sabre in the colors of Hawk One which I looked at and sat in at its home on the Ottawa/Gatineau Airport. But I am getting distracted....

Soooo, I would love it if my gorgeous plane found a new home in this fine land that I love! If you decide "yes" I could do all of this next week. Happen to have some time at hand.... Let me know how you decide. Shoot all your questions. Once we have established e-mail-contact I can take pictures of any detail that you like. We could even have a Skype/whatssap/facetime conversation and I'll show you the model live. Everything's possible ;-)
    Cheers, Martin

    Hi again,
oh, wait, I was a bit quick with the shipping quote. The problem is the elevator which is glued in place. So the box would be quite large - larger than what the "normal" shipping size would be. So we're looking more at 1000 CAN$. Do you have a better idea? I will keep looking as well... there must be a cheaper way!
    Cheers, Martin
