I have a Skyshark p-40 giant scale with servos in the fuse and a Sachs 52cc with CDI ignition on the nose... 20 oz. fuel tank is installed and plumbed.
Servos: Hitec 645s on each elevator, Futaba 3010 on the rudder; standard on throttle and on steering for tail wheel. No servos on flaps or ailerons.
It has an electric tail wheel retract and I have a brand new pair of Gene Barton, rotating air retracts for the wings.
I bough the P-40 from a fellow who did some cosmetic work on the cowl and fuse nose area, then sprayed those areas with black primer... it needs to be repainted and new graphics applied... the canopy is great, a very small crack on front edge and wings are fine.
It probably was just a nose over on landing that got the bottom front of the cowl and probably put some minor stress cracks in the front of the fuse.
I don’t see any signs of a major or bad crash...! I think he just got carried away with the black primer...! The wing shows no signs of a bad crash... he might have landed sideways and caught a wing tip.
No question it is in need of a respray and some minor fill n sand spots...
The engine runs great... it is my engine and was not on the p-40 when I purchased it. The former owner had all the servos in the fuse with push rods to the tail... but that’s not how the instructions say to build the plane, so I installed the tail servos in the inside of the fuse in the tail as per instructions.
I’m just not real good at painting and finishing tasks... I thought I could do it but too clumsy... hahaha...
Plane can be crated and shipped by Greyhound... probably around $150 total.
