******* FEATURED PICTURED IS THAT OF A COMPLETED MAXFORD SPAD. FOR SALE IS A NIB ARF.*******
For sale is brand new in the box Maxford USA SPAD XIII. I purchased this ARF several years ago with the intent of building and flying (as a replacement for my Maxford Nieuport) but it is time for me to admit that I am just not going to get around to putting it together. I can't speak to the characteristics of the SPAD, but three of us locally had Nieuports from Maxford and had a blast with them. Once dialed in with throws and CG to suit, they flew VERY, VERY well.
This ARF has been on my basement for about 3 years. The first time I opened the box was to take the pictures with this ad. I have the ARF box as well as the box that Maxford shipped to me in. I will cover shipping up to $50. If it is more than that, let's work something out.
The SPAD can be set up virtually any way you would like- Gas, Nitro or electric.
Details from Maxford's website include:
The SPAD S.XIII was a French biplane fighter aircraft of World War I, developed by Société Pour L'Aviation et ses Dérivés(SPAD) from the earlier highly successful SPAD S.VII. It was one of the most capable fighters of the war, and one of the most-produced, with 8,472 built. The S.XIII was flown by famous French fighter pilots such as Georges Guynemer and Rene Fonck, and also by Italian ace Francesco Baracca. Aces of the United States Army Air Service who flew the Spad XIII include Eddie Rickenbacker (America's leading ace with 26 confirmed victories) and Frank Luke (18 victories).
