Item Description:
Ok guys, this is a feeler for a 3-year project that is 99% complete. I have a new job that has me traveling a lot and I have no time for the hobby at this level for now. Kills me to see this beauty so close to completion collecting dust.
To my knowledge this is the only one in the world. I blew it up from 96" to 120" wingspan with Dave Andersen Plans. Only the highest aircraft grade materials were used. Projected weight is about 85 lbs. I modified the design to include a removable stab. Despite its massive size, plane will transport in a full size SUV with the center section of the wing attached, sitting on it's wheels. This makes for really quick field setup for a massive warbird. No airlines to fiddle with etc...
A ton of thought and about 2000 build hours have gotten it this far, needs someone to finish the radio install, balance, and fly. It's truly that close.
Painted with Model Masters paint and tastefully weathered to eliminate the "arf" look. Would love a local sale, but will crate and ship at buyer's expense.
There are about 30 pages and 200 photos of this build on rcscalebuilder.com

A few of the highlights:
-Herbrandson 289cc 2 Stroke twin with a 36x16 3-bladed prop (not a misprint) - 30-ish Horsepower boys!
-Hitec and JR digitals throughout, heavy duty hardware, etc
-Smartfly redundant power system with Li-Ion batteries
-Custom Sierra Retracts
-All parts hand cut by yours truly
-One-off canopy and cowl, all scratch built
-Rivets and panel lines and scale piano hinges on the fuse
-Retractable tailwheel with doors
-3-pc wing and removable stab
-7.25" Diameter custom sierra spinner
Much, much, much more....
This is not a desperation sale, I just want to see it flown and flown a lot and I know that won't happen in my garage.
I have seen some pretty special warbirds and this is up there in terms of detail and presence. In fact, I would say it has about as impressive a presence on the flightline as any model I've seen. In the air, the big Herby engine will make this the baddest warbird at any scale event.
Questions welcomed. Serious inquiries only though please. During the week I am often traveling so I will try to answer emails/inquiries ASAP.
Only PARTIAL trades I would consider would be a 80" - 100" gas-n-go warbird or high performance scale plane (like a lancair).
Thanks!!!
Danny
Not letting me upload pics... will try again later...
