WHY IT'S CRITICAL FOR BUYERS TO USE THE "MAKE OFFER" FORM VS. EMAIL

    Hi,

I have some questions about the Skymaster.

What is the quality and overall finish on the repaint? Was it kept light? If I were to convert it to glow or gas, is the paint used fuel proof? Do you have pics of the interior where the batteries and radio gear go? Would you entertain selling airframe and servos only? On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate the plane? Is there anything else I should know?

I know it's a lot of questions, but it would be a 5 our drive for me one way and I'd like to be sure it's what I am looking for before I commit to making the trip.

    Thanks,
    Adam

Hi the paint job was done right and looks really nice then decals from fuel points, lift points, hazard areas and the wild duck scheme where coated with clear. Now with that in mind the plane being a KMP which are known for the gel coating on fiberglass cracking there are a couple places under the paint where this is evident and has been touched up but still looks good and noticeable only when looking close. The planes weight is same as stock kmp weight on this model as original surface paint was removed and replaced with new paint scheme. Now as far as fuel proof as Im not sure what paint base was used as I didn't paint and build the plane Im going to recommend electric only. I say that because even the interior has a custom built lipo box that can drop out of the bottom of the fuse on one side hinges on the other to load the lipo batteries from underneath the plane and raise it back flush. This plane was redesigned and modified for electric an electric set up. There would be some changes and redesigning needed to convert to fuel set up. If your still interested in plane knowing this information let me know and I will take some more detailed pics for you. For the record Ive owned one of these in gas with a twin set up and because of the push pull set up on engines you cant get that nice sweet sound of twin engines like on a twin tractor. They will always be variable pitched because ones a pusher and ones a tractor.

I very much appreciate your quick and honest reply. I've always wanted a KMP, but seems this one is much better suited to stay as an electric with all the mods you have done. I am more of a glow/gas person and haven't had much luck with electrics. I am sure this will make someone a great project as it's an amazing plane at a great price. All the hard work is already done. You should have no trouble selling this beauty. Thanks again and good luck to you.

Adam, I completely understand, most guys are either mainly fuel or mainly electric rarley fly both. This particular plane is designed for electric and would require a lot of extra work to convert to fuel. I personally love skymasters and had a gas that was heavy with the engines I had in it. I think if fuel for this set up then nitro would be the best option as it has the better power to weight ratio. They do have smaller gas engines now but still to bulky and stick out of the skymaster fuse taking away from the scale lines. The main reason I love the electric set up is you have none of those issues and a ton or power to spare.

Very nice looking 336/337. It will be great for electric event and warbird event. :)

I built one using two Saito 100T twin cylinder engines. If I redo, it will be done in electric due to balance. I had to use 5cell sub-c cells for the flight pack as I needed nose weight.

Good luck with the sale. If you were close, I would have picked it up.

Would love to have this if you were closer. It looks like you have done an awesome job on it. Good luck. If you have a need to go to Disney World and want to bring the plane I will take it. :-)

Yes, have had a few below asking price now which Im asking a third of what I have invested. I automatically listed low for quick sale and everyone so far keeps wanting it for less which Im staying firm where its at. Its hard enough letting it go but higher priorities need to be met so hobby is first to sell. Thank you for inquiring
