I purchased this Stearman several months back for my son to fly at our local warbird meets. This plane was built by Lou Zackman and I have to say, he did an incredible job. As you will notice in the pics, no detail was missed. Recently, this plane was flown at the Warbirds Over Delaware meet.
The plane flies great. I was a little nervous at first considering it's size, but it takes off straight and true, has plenty of power to complete basic maneuvers.....loops, rolls, barrel rolls, stall turns, etc, and it lands very easily with no bad tendencies. In fact, you can chop the throttle and it will float for quite a long time before a blip of throttle is needed to maintain flight. My son and I have received several comments from fellow modelers at how well the plane flies and looks in the air.
Sachs 4.2 with electronic ignition and 1900 mah nimh battery ( brand new ) Starts and runs easily and great!
Fully Functional Robo Struts with 5 1/2 Wheels
Hitec 645 BB Servos with 2400 mah nimh battery ( brand new )
Personally, I really don't want to sell this plane. I would rather keep it and have my son save his money over the winter for a scale jet.......but as with most kids today, he's impatient and wants to get a jet for this winter.
Due to it's size, it would be really difficult to ship this model ( and expensive!!! ). It can be done, but the wings are one piece and it would require a large crate. I am willing to do the work if you are willing to pay for the full expense of the crate and the shipping fees. Otherwise, I would prefer a local pick-up.
Payment: I will accept PayPal as long as you pay the 3% fee. Otherwise, I prefer cash upon delivery.
