Due to business and health reasons, I no longer have any time for this project, nor any shop space either.
Willing to Trade:
This is the partially constructed hull about a 1/4 scale model of a 21 foot Chris-Craft Cobra. A friend of mine started to build this but died, and I bought it from his estate, intending to complete it. However, due to business, and now health concerns, I've not able to build it. It’s been sitting in my shop collecting dust, so I’m trying to find someone who’ll give it the care and has the modeling expertise to make it shine! Hull is 63 inches long X 22 inches wide X 10 inches deep and weighs 16 pounds. The motor mounts are installed as is a hole for the propeller shaft. It is planked with mahogany strips. The dry atmosphere here in Arizona has not been kind to it. I have a roll of ¾ inch wide mahogany veneer that I intended to use to recover the hull. I’d sell that for another $30.00. If you want it I’ll ship it with the hull. I purchased a Dumas Chris-Craft Cobra kit, which I’m also now selling on this site. I was going to build the small boat first, to give me ideas on how to build the big boat. Also I intended to use the plastic pieces of the turtle-back and fin, as models for the bigger boat, which is 2.33 times larger than the Dumas kit boat. I was going to have the turtle-back and fin, furnished with the Dumas kit, digitally measured by laser, then scaled up and made for the bigger model by a 3D printer. I never was able to do one thing with the Dumas kit either. When done, this boat will be a show stopper. Heads will turn wherever this model is displayed. Because of the size of this boat hull, I’ll have to make a special shipping box out of ¼" plywood, so handling and shipping costs are expensive. Shipping is $275.00 by USPS with a $50.00 handling fee for a total of $325.00. Please examine the photos carefully. I've tried to show all of the good, and bad, things about this hull. Should you wish further photos of a particular area of the hull, I’d be glad to send them to you.
