Item Description:
This is one of the many terrific PICA Designed Models that Cox/Estes contracted with China to build on their behalf just a few years ago. It was provided to me with two complete wings (for testing and evaluation) (one with Fixed Gear, the other with Robart 90 degree Retracts). I assembled and flew each wing, about five times a piece and both worked beautifully. It came out extremely light, yet very strongly assembled. Zero damage history and hardly ever flown, except for the initial testing. THIS is a brand new model!
Essentially, you are buying a complete, fully test flown Hellcat Model with an extra complete, fully test flown wing, as an alternate configuration. Both wings are completely set up, with servos, and ready to bolt into place at the field. Cool, huh?
The NEW OS.61FX with Stock Muffler pulling this honey is barely broken in, run maybe ten to twelve times on 15%. It spins the APC 12/6 Prop with an AMA Prop Safety Nut. (11oz Fuel Tank also installed)
The whole set up only 9 lbs., 7 oz. RTF (3 oz. heavier with the Retractable Gear Wing) There is a 72 MHz RX on board (JR or Hitec, can't recall), which I'll leave in place to do what you wish with. No Battery included, however a small LiFi 1300 mA pack is ideal for this airplane.
General specs are:
Each WING is 66.5 inch span (15 inch chord), which bolts with the belly pan to the fuselage with two nylon 1/4-20 bolts. 49 inch long FUSELAGE with a 12 inch high FIN and 28 inch wide STAB
Within the Fuselage is the included medium sized air tank, filler and control valves installed in place for the retract system. The Fuselage includes four brand new Hitec Servos (325HB & 425BB), as does each wing with four 425BB in each! That is a total of 12 brand new servos included in this purchase, already installed, ready to fly!
The very thin clear canopy is cracked as I was loading it into my truck, but the pilot, Snoopy Dog, does not seem bothered by the additional airflow. I wouldn't bother doing anything about replacing it. Otherwise, you'll have to come up with something creative to replace it.
As mentioned, the Retractable Main Gear Wing is only slightly heavier than the Fixed Gear Wing, for obvious reasons. The 90 degree rotating Robart Gear in that wing work beautifully too! They're very strong as well (a bonus in any War Bird). Impressive!
Proper CG is located and both wings have been flown about 5 times each. The model is stunning in the air, and very stable. Either Wing lands nice and slow with the flaps down. A terrific model in all respects!
You'll be proud to fly this airplane at any event, especially those Great War Bird meets. I am asking only $500.00 OBO.
Shipping this airplane is no problem either. Greyhound Express will get it to you safely for about $120, give or take (custom double wall box, packing material, transport within the USA).
I've got many more photos if there is something in particular you'd care to view. Both wings are basically identical, so you're currently viewing only one wing at a time in this AD. Both wings, however, are completely set up, with servos, and ready to fly.

I know a fella in California, Merrill Brady, mm.glidertech@verizon.net. He makes canopies for anything and what a nice fella. He duplicated my F-18's canopy beautifully, for $8ea! If you sent him the broken canopy, he'd probably reproduce a couple for $5 or $10, plus the shipping. he's got it figured out and works in the Composite Fabricating Industry for a living. But hey, as I said in my AD, I don't think I'd even mess with it :-) Snoopy doesn't seem to care a lick! LOL
