We have a brand new, easy to use RCU Marketplace
Come take a look. On April 5, 2018, once all existing listings have expired, the old marketplace will close for good. In the meantime, feel free to browse what is for sale here, but please make any new for-sale or trade listing in the new Marketplace!
For your consideration is a Lanier Predator II, quickie 500 Racer. It came as a "package deal" with another plane I recently purchased, and despite the larger than normal wheels I put on her in an attempt to be able to fly her from my home field, the grass has not, and probably will never be suitable for ROG. Bad for me, good for someone who actually is interested in racing her!
This aircraft is built from an ARF, unfortunately as with most Lanier aircraft, no longer manufactured. Overall, I would rate the overall condition of the plane a "7-8 out of ten". There was some hangar rash that I repaired prior to my attempt to get her in the air, but overall the structural integrity and the condition of the covering is what I would consider "good".
Although I was not able to fly this plane, I was able to test the engine. It runs great, and is the class correct Thunder Tiger 40 Pro. The last time I ran the engine I did not take any RPM readings, as my original intent was to keep the plane for a while. The engine originally came with what I believe to be a "Nelson" muffler, which can be substituted for the current Thunder Tiger muffler seen in the photos for an additional $50. I do have the original backplate for the crankcase which is included with this item, as long as you remind me to give it to you!
I currently have a JR receiver on channel 17 installed in the plane. I do have a Futaba high band receiver that originally came with the plane that I can substitute, but as I have no way of testing it, it is being offered strickly "as is".
I am willing to "part out" this plane, and in fact would not mind keeping this engine. Be sure to be specific about what pieces you are interested in when making an offer so I can respond properly.
This plane is available for inspection/ground tests at my home or my home flying field in Colts Neck N.J. If more detailed photos are desired, or if you have any questions, please post your request here or PM me and I will try to get back to you within 24-48 hours.
I will be heading up to the NEAT fair Sept 9th through 13th. Although not staying the weekend, (14-15), my friends will be (Jersey Coast Sport Fliers tent), so if this helps anyone with "pickup", I could bring this plane with me. Since space in my van will be tight, I will require payment in advance, or a at least a small ($10) non-refundable deposit.
Shipping: This item is too large to ship and is for local pickup only. I am willing to meet a buyer within a 2 hour round trip drive for pre-arranged and pre-paid round trip gas and tolls.
Offers: I will favor those that are at my offer price (or better, haha J ), or require me to travel the least to meet the buyer.
Payment: Paypal is my preferred method of being paid. Certified check or Postal Money orders are also OK. Cash on pickup is also good. Payment must be received within 7 business days of accepting your offer.
Return Policy: All sales are final. No warranties have been expressed or are implied. Please, ask any questions BEFORE you make an offer.
