Tamaya chassis help
Hi all: Looking for some help/advice on this chassis that was given to me. I'm big time into rc planes but not so much cars, although this might do the trick. As you can see, it needs just about everything, motor, esc, receiver, and maybe the battery since I think it's pretty old (I have a servo). It turns out that I drove this car about 8 years ago and it screemed. I like that. I don't want to sink a ton of cash into it so help me with the motor, esc and battery. Also, what scale is it? I might ditch the body for a new one. OK, men, have at it.
Thanks,
Paul

Do you have a charger? I ask because it'll will be, in my opinion, cheaper to "go" LiPo. Perhaps a mild brushless motor/ESC combo would look good in the Tamiya chassis? Good news. There are plenty of low budget esc/motor (brushed and brushless) combos out there to fill your car's void. I would have to point in the direction of a GoolRC combo.

Another question: I want to use the 10th scale trans am javelin. The chassis length is correct but when I measure tire to tire front and back I'm going to be about 1/2 narrower on each side than the body. Can I buy wider wheels and tires and what would I look for?

I don't know what Tamiya's wheels are as far as offset, but check out HPI's 6mm offset wheels. https://www.hpiracing.com/en/product_category/W10TW
