Suggestions on a mini?

I haven't really run any RC cars in the last 10 years and I no longer have space for a 1/10 track so I ended up selling off all my nitro cars and most of my 1/10 electrics. I have been thinking lately that I wouldn't mind trying to build a track for some minis. My plan would be to get a couple of them so I can have a loaner for a friend to race.
My track space would be roughly 15'x30' and I plan to just do a simple oval with a jump or two. I tried doing this once before but the area was just too small for my brushless sc10 and T4. My big concern with minis is that they seem like they could be difficult to control. As a casual driver who will be loaning a car to a brand new driver, I don't want something that is too fast and difficult to control. I'm thinking brushed motor and maybe 4x4. I'm not looking to set any speed records, just some fun, competitive casual racing.
What is the general opinion on the Mini T 2.0, Mini Slash/E Revo, or the LaTrax prerunner? Or other recommendations? Ideally Id like to stay around $150-200 per rig if possible. The latrax seems a little on the toy-ish side so id be really interested to get some more opinion on it.

My Feedback: (10)

I don't have a particular opinion on any of those. In fact, I'd be happy with any of those myself. I was shopping for a mini recently and decided on an Axial Yeti Jr. That isnt really appropriate for racing, but I looked at all of those on your list. And to add fuel to the fire I also looked at the Losi JRX2 and the Associated Reflex 14T. The latter fits your bill of 4x4. I honestly think a pair of any of them would fit the bill.
If it were me I probably would skip brushed and go right to brushless. You'll end up there anyhow.

outside of crawlers/scalers the Losi's are all anyone seems to be running right now. and idk jack squat about them. never driven one, hell iv never seen one in person. the Associated Reflex 14's seemed to be popular for a while. might want to go that route just for driveability. i find the smaller 1/18 scale cars are "twitchy" and easy to crash as they are very light weight and over powered.

Yeah after I posted the original post, I started seeing the Associated Reflex pop up as well. I might check that one out as it seems like exactly what I am looking for. I miss the days of being in the loop on all the latest releases lol

Thread is kinda old what’s OP running?
I have 4 of the current losi minis. (2) mini t 2.0s Mini B and mini Jrx2. Absolutely love all of them. . Keep them brushed. I’ve converted 2 to brushless and went back. Unnecessary just too fast. My track is 20x30 and it’s a good size 4x4 not necessary as long as you keep your dirt prepped. I have some of the traxxas… I mean “Latax” Tetons too they’re frustrating on track not precise and servo way too slow I imagine the pre runner similar issues. Also their 370 motors run hot and burn out constantly
