Thanks for the info Tyhodge. I don't think those ball joins will screw into my aluminum parts, otherwise I'd be all over it! I broke linkage after linkage until I started using zip ties, and they work perfectly. When I build another Micro-T (my next one will be brushed) I'll make sure to use the ball joint linkage.

if you but a tap, than you can retap the holes in the aluminum to make them a tad larger. they are really close to fitting, but once in i wouldnt remove and also use loc-tite

Here is a solution to the diff problem - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeUVdOJBW80

It's been around for quite awhile. If you do this you'll probably never have diff problems again. I don't know if there's a real shim you can buy, but this looks like it will work. I beleive the wire is a cat5 wire like you may have used for your antenna.

thats for the 3racing gearbox, they need to be shimmed sometimes because they are just alittle off.

here is the shim you would need:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJHR8&P=0

and here is where you would put it:
http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=Pq17xeQA

although i found it better to put it between the inside of the case and the bearing.

There, now that should solve at least 30 diff problems.

the 3racing gearbox alone is one major upgrade. if you want your micro to glide as smooth as butter across the floor, id get it. its really smooth, i can let off and let it just roll across the floor for about 5 feet before it stops [8D]

is there a big difference between the Integy and 3racing aluminum transmission cases? the first one i got was the integy one....looks good but for some reason has a binding problem internally (it came back after swapping diffs again)....just ordered the 3racing one...hopefully it doesn't have the same problem

integy one doesnt have bearings like the 3racing one does. which makes the integy gearbox basically an aluminum version of the stock the 3racing comes with bearings, you may need to shim it and may not. some have needed it and some havent. you wont regret the 3r one once you get it tuned right.[8D]

don't know if you guys already knew this (haven't read much of this thread yet) but the xmod evolution series truck shocks fit. Basically the xmod truck upgrade shocks fit.

the bearings are on the inside, you can see part of the one where the slipper shaft comes out of. its pretty darn smooth too, i love mine.

depends on what your plans are and the room you have to run it. if you plan to run brushless and lipo, go that route, if you plan to run brushless and stock batt, go with the atomic bb2 and than grab a lipo off ebay. the bb2 and lipo is just as fast as the brushless setup on stock, but cheaper to get moving since you will only need a motor and lipo batt than rather than the esc/motor combo, receiver, servo, transmitter, lipo batt.

it would be on what you want to spend really than. also how much room you have to run it.

i personally would only go with the bb2 and the lipo than spend the other money on a track setup. around here basements are not that large and a lipo and brushless seems like you wouldnt even be able to have enough room to fully open up and let it rip to get full speed, and only be using like half speed the whole time, but not knowing how much room you have in the basement, you may have the room to get most the use out of it, or even may not have the room and not get the full use out of it. im just a get my money's worth type of guy, and going 100+ on a bl lipo setup id want to be hitting its full potential, rather than only a certain amount than risking smoking the wall and breaking it all in half, lol
