Well I ended up buying the dang thing....couldn't resist. I guess I am doomed and have NO willpower. Is there a doctor in the house?

Yeah it's hard to get out of a hobby, or part of one, after being in it for a while. I tried getting out of Minis once and just couldn't do I loved playing with these little things on rainy days, weekends, or on my free time. I say stay in the hobby, so if your bored, rainy, or you got some free time on your hands you could just take one out and cruse it around the house, or work if the let you.
Also good pick, the Vendetta ST is fun.

Thanks guys! I hope I can find time to use the dang thing now. I still have the mini quake I bought from inverted in the box he sent it to me in....lol. Maybe one day I will get out from under these plane wings and get back at it. Winter is coming so I figured I better get a couple of presents to self....hehe. Oh yeah and I also bought this one and shipping was free since I just had to go and pick it up 12 miles away

Well I can say this, it is real hard to hide anything from a parent.....since they own your underwear and everything else you think you own they have the right to rummage through your stuff. I know this because I am a parent of 3 girls and one more on the way. (Not sure if boy or girl).....good luck!

Hah, parents...
I had the same problem even as I lived with paredts until I was 22 (due to my illness - Crohns) From HS on when Aug-Sept rolled around, and I dinna have the $ for tuition (catholic schools weren't funded then) it was " Ok, what did you fund with the $ you made... " and they made me pony up an inventory before I got the 'loan'. It WAS a loan, because I had to pay it back... no more RC's until I'd paid 'em back. Went through most of the Tamiyas that way (almost all used) plus a Kyosho Progress (4wd/4ws) an RC10, RC12L, and a few boats too. I dinna ~try~ to hide the 52" Dumas American Enterprise... and the parents dinna notice for weeks, they gave up on searches cause by then it was MY $ to waste.
The trick is to hide 'em in very unlikely places. Places your parents won't go or won't look. Think of on top of ducting in an unfinished the basement, in ancient storage boxes (like for pictures or out-of-season clothes) or decorations & stuff. I used have one of those old sears Captain's beds, and used to find the area under/behind the bed lift to be perfect. I even had one hanging in with my best suit in a clothes bag in the closet. Think like a Sci-Fi Spacer, and use any dead volume of space (like under a desktop at the back of the area for your knees)
Other way is to explain that you ~could~ be wasting it on cigarettes or drugs, stereo gear or hyper-expensive clothes (more than $40 for a pair of jeans or shoes is rediculous) or worse... a GIRL (or a few of 'em) When you explain they can be sold to regain $ (or the $ you saved getting it there and not in a store) they often clam up and take it as one of the 'safer' hobbies, and applaud your thriftyness.
