LMK if you want to get rid of it.

If the shaft is bent, i could see it causing your issues.

Yep I am going to get rid of it..

I bought an RD Logics Wolverine 1/8th scale monster truck with a .28 big block :-D
THAT should be fun

if you wanna purchase it name a price - not sure how to do it - i could throw it on ebay or something..or just buy it if the price is good..
I'll include the O.S. 18 CV-R left in it..and the original .16 engine that came stock in it..
unfortunately i wanna keep the radio and receiver..
you already know the problems im having with it, so yeah

Just wondering if I could try a bigger fuel tank on my MG16. Anyone has done it?

edit: received some items from eBay. So I'm considering other mods.

Airtronics FM 75Mhz receiver. Now I'm replacing the 2.4GHz from a Losi mini-LST that for some reason has a very short range.

CEN G70333 flexible manifold: will try with some tuned pipe. Maybe a cheap one from T-maxx or Rustler ?

Tamiya Mini body. I'm waiting for some decent weather to airbrush it and try to fit the MG16. I bought a Hot Bodies Truggy body post and used a Dremel to make them fit the screw holes on the shock tower. They're ticker than the stock from CEN but I think it will work.

hello I need help, I turned 15 and I got a cen mg16 for my birthday and can you help me on how to customize it and what kind of parts should I use for it, so I can keep it one top shape. This is basically what I have right now an MG16 with everything stock and Duracell 2650 mah rechargeable batteries for the electronics, and Trinity fuel 20% nitro and 18% oil, the fuel is called Trinity monster break in fuel and I guess it was a good fuel but i am worried about the percentage of oil i am using. Please it would be much appreciated if you will help me or guide me on my new MG16 and how to work it correctly. Thanks a lot, My e-mail is t4air@yahoo.com.

a few things for customization...

wheel extenders. 12mm. they will give you a wider wheel base so you can reallly cut corners. I had a hard time with mine ALWAYS flipping over. I can't remember who makes them but they are available.

20% nitro is the way to go, I always run 20% during and after break in.

the next good upgrade you can do is with the exhaust - the stock muffler holds back the potential of the engine. theirs many things you can do, you just gotta find what suits you best. Some tried a "flex pipe" header which is a flexible tube that allows you to mount your exhaust where you want to, then with that you could run dual exhaust ( like the traxxas nitro stampede) or try something else...

hope this helps a bit!!!!

any other questions feel free to ask!!!!

take a look at my MG16, I put a O.S. 18 CV R on it and it screeeaammmeeddd!!!! - couldn't even keep the wheels on the ground!!!!! but that took some serious modification.

one other thing is the tie rods....you can go buy adjustable ones so your wheels actually sit straight up and no curved in...

Sj, see if you can find a link to the extenders, that would help for a side exhaust mod also.

My final exhaust choice would have been a AE pull start header and CRT .5 pipe. It is under 4 inches and i think would have fit. Better with extenders. I was going to buy 4 1/8 scale wheel adapters from New Era for mine and run a set of bad lands on it with a .18 engine.

Good price and great find SJ! I could use those on my TL01 chassis!

I wish some one made the 1/8 scale adapters for 4wd 12mm set up. All i have seen are the hex rear and bearing front like for a jato or rc10gt

i miss my MG....

I think my next one will be a TC with the rally tires and my Associated pipe mod. With the longer rear posts it will fit better.

start reading the thread...pretty much explains all the good upgrade parts...
go to CEN racing direct online and they have adjustable turnbuckles you can buy, just measure the ones on their...
as far as the steel spur gear.. i have failed to find one that worked...i did have a 48T integy savage X gear along with a 20T clutch bell and it had good top speed but lowww acceleration. Integy also sells 55T metal spur gears i just dont know the diameter of them. it might take a little customizing but im sure you can do it.

i put the dual rear exhaust of a stampede on my mg16 for a while along with the Flex Header you can purchase from CEN and it did O.k. not the best..i have yet to see a good pipe go on this truck, but getting that Flex Header really opens up your options..since it "flexes"

here go some pictures

I have installed the flexible manifold and a Sportwerks Reaction pipe. Haven't tested for speed already but at least it sounds better than the stock muffler.

Put striker tires now the little thing doesn't flip everytime I make a sharp turn with WOT.

Broke my airbrush so I'm waiting for a replacement to finish the Mini body.

EDIT: Doesn't look faster after a few runs, but accelerates better than stock. I'm gonna try a Revo pipe now.

I installed a Revo pipe and it seems faster now.

Now I have a problem. I broke 3 fins from the engine head and I'm looking for a replacement. Anyone knows if there's some third party I can use instead the original head?

i bet the revo pipe does make it run better! I thought last time i looked at a MG16 or alike, the head looked different from mine. I bet they changed the design some. Might call and ask.

I just got one of these on the weekend, there pretty sweet little machines!

The first tank of fuel I had to keep the Glow Ignitor connected for the entire tank or it would cut out.
The second tank of fuel I could run without the glowplug by holding the trigger at about 1/8th
the third tank only needed casual feathering of the trigger to keep it from stalling
the fourth tank I did a slow drive from idle to 50% in slow rises
the fifth and final run-in tank I went from idle to 75% in medium speed rises.

after this, I let the little guy off his leash, and WHOLLY CR@P its an absolute speed demon. my Tmaxx isnt as fast as this thing LOL

I gotta say, I am impressed, I picked it up at a steal for au$250 for the RTR Truck, fuel, a starter pack and 12 Venom AA batteries.

The only problem I had was, when I took it out of the box, the front steering was binding a little when turning right, and would not turn left at all.
the steering links (that go from the steering on the car to the wheel hubs) were attached to the top on the carside, and the bottom on the wheelhub side. I took them off and switched them over so they are both on-top and it fixed it right up.
