Charging Question
Noobie question, since this is my first REAL charger. I just bought a vision peak ultra charger and elite 1500mah 6 cell for my MLST. I hooked up the battery and it charged for 37 minutes at 1.5A before going into trickle mode. The volts went up to 9.24 during charge and then quickly dropped to 8.64 when it went into trickle and remained at this voltage. Does this sound normal? Just curious since it is a 7.2 volt pack.

RE: Charging Question
that is normal, the voltage drop is the "peak charge" that is normal for a pack, and 7.2 volts is a "dead pack" your average cell when charged is about 1.5-1.6 volts aproximately[8D]

RE: Charging Question
A good way to charge is what is called a "1c" rate. A 2000mah battery is 2amps (divide milliamps by 1,000 to get amps). Charge a battery at the rated amps - in this case set your charger for a 2 amp rate. The result is a 1 hour charge for a fully depleted battery (usually closer to 35 -40 minutes as batteries should never be fully discharged.)
A one hour charge rate is "1c". If you set the charger for 4 amps it will be a .5 hour charge - "2c" (ie charging at twice the batteries rated amperage.) The faster the charge the shorter your overall battery life. 1c is a good safe rate and won't be hard on your battery - 2 amp setting.
