RE: your opinion on micros?
the micros you mentioned in post 1 are 1 36. I have a micro dt and a micro-t. I did not do to many upgrades yet because the cars are so small I dont like to mess with them much. If you end up buying a micro you must put on threaded axles and bearings. I did the lipo power with the micro-t. I think you would be better off with 1 16 or 1 18.

Did you every choose which truck to get?
How'd you get bored of the Rustler? Actually, I think a Rusty would get a little stale with me over time also. They can go pretty fast, jump some stuff but they aren't rough and tough like a monster truck or crawler.
If I had to choose for you, which I'm not I'm mearly suggesting, I would recommend the 1/24 crawler as it can do things your Rustler could never do. Though, you'll miss the speed.
I have a Micro T and I think it's a blast. But, it's going to be very similar to a Rusty besides the fact that you can drive it in your house.

if you are only running one rc by yourself i can see eventually getting bored, thats why i own 6

Same here - I have shelves and shelves of various RC's. Just having one gets kind of boring. I like some off road, some on road and then different types for each depending on the where you want to run etc....

RE: your opinion on micros?
I have a few too and it is more fun being able to switch off depending on how you want to play. now i need some sort of crawler to try out crawling. i have an awesome rocky stream by my house that is dry 99% of the time that would be a perfect crawling course. back to the topic of micros, has anyone tryed the losi micro rock crawler. although i hate losi i was thinking of getting one for winter indoors crawling. the slowness of it all makes it seem perfect for indoor winter playing.

150.00 for the thing. i have reconsidered as i really dont like losi cars . i think they cheap out on the construction of them as often as they can get away with it. I do like losi products just hate their cars.

Yea i realy think they could have made the cost a bit lower like around $100.00

They could also "fix/address" the stuff ya'll are griping about and make it cost MORE.

RE: your opinion on micros?
dude, to be honest with ya. i would rather pay up front rather than dealing with all the hidden costs like buying a bunch of parts that should come on the rig to make it run 1/2 way decent. i think losi is the king of this scam but they all do it to a degree just not as obviously as losi.

RE: your opinion on micros?
A lot of RC's aren't very fun in stock form. I am all for keeping them at more affordable prices.
Two examples being the Micro-RS4 & the Mini-T. Wasn't until I hopped the up to either make them more durable or whatever reason - only after spending on aftermarket parts they became two of my favorite RC's. Before then they were kind of slow and boring.

Again, the old expression comes to mind - YOUGETWHATYOUPAYFOR .................... 'nuff said.
Otherwise it's like buying a Yugo and expecting it to run like a Ferarri, and being disappointed when it didn't.

RE: your opinion on micros?
Some people enjoy making it custom to their own liking and having it unique.
I have not owned Duratrax anything other than some parts I bought off EBay to use on other projects. BUT I do like how most Duratrax products come with most of the hop-ups at an affordable price.
At the same time I do a lot of CAD drawings and built my own CNC machine. I rather buy a used RC for cheap. And you get cheap like you repeatedly feel you have to express. But some of us like either getting the after market parts to customise their ride or making something truely custom of their own. To do that - the RC I buy doesn't have to come with all the extras. Making it custom is what I think is fun about the hobby.
How many people can claim they have ran a 540 sized Hacker C40 5 Turn motor in a Micro RS4? Not many - but man was it fun to take out on a flat parking lot and drive it around. And no - I haven't broken much of anything on my Micro RS4 because of lack of control and crashing it at those speeds. Sometimes hit s pebble and flip but that's about it.
The hobby is about having fun. And if having a Micro (what ever model or brand) is what someone wants to have fun with and do things that others do not agree. It's ok - long as the person doing it is having fun. It's not something for us to bicker and argue over in the forums. Help the original poster get a good Micro like they asked - and let's all move forward.
Thanks -
SS
