Mini Quake gearing and leaky shocks
Hi all! I need to slow down the Mini Quake for indoor use. The stock gear is a 45T spur and 16T pinion. What would you recommend to slow this rig down?
Are these the only pinions that fit the MQ? It mentions the pinions have an ID of 2.30mm and a 48 metric pitch. (bottom section) http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...nion&search=Go
Here a link to the available spurs. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...purs&search=Go
Also, a few of the shock are leaking. Do I only need the diaphragms and the O-rings for repair or would I need the entire rebuild kit? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKPC6&P=7
Thanks

Yeah you could get the 11t pinion and it should slow things down a little. Another option would be to get a 4-cell or 5-cell nimh battery pack and keep your gearing constant. That way you can just swap batteries if you ever want to go faster.
As for the shocks, I would suggest you get the whole kit. That way you'll have some spares already on hand when you need to rebuild again. AE Green Slime helps out a lot too.

RE: Mini Quake gearing and leaky shocks
Thanks for your reply. I was hoping to find a pinion with the same specs that was a bit cheaper. They are probably the only ones made for the MQ.
I never thought about running less cells. That does give me something to think about.
