voltage question

I have recently purchased a 1/18 buggy just to bash on after being out the game for a few years, its a wltoys A959-A, it was the cheapest one out of the range.
im happy with the buggy but not keen on the 6.4v li-lon battery that comes with it, basically i want to know if i could put a 7.4v lipo on it without causing any damage, i have searched everywhere for the specs on the receiverlesc combo but they dont seem to make it available, all the other models come with a 7.4v and the escs look the same so im prehaps assuming it would work? would the extra volt cause any dame or just produce slightly more heat? any help would be greatly appreciated

Oh man, I looked around for a bit and could not find that info either. Good luck.

You'll be fine but good that you're being so cautious. I'd be willing to bet on it. The extra 1v would only mean higher RPM but only slightly and also slightly hotter. 6.4v is a very abnormal size. I'm sure replacement batteries from third parties are actually all 7.4v. Also remember that these are nominal amounts. The actual voltage when charged is higher. A 2S Lipo says 7.4 on the battery, but when fully charged, the voltage is 8.4v or 4.2v per cell.
