what to get on my rc18t
hey all,
I know in previous threads ive said about getting a on-road car. but right now i really want to get a rc18t. so i think that after this weekend when i get enough money im going to order one of those, get a charger, and 2-3 batts from elmo. if i were to get a mamba, which one would you select and would i need to upgrade anything else on the car as well? thanks, SIR |

RE: what to get on my rc18t
AE makes them. they should be there at your LHS. i got mine at my LHS today. and something to look into which is a really good investment is the new RPM bumper for it. saved me like 3 times today! it sticks out like 1.5 inches so your body never gets whacked.

RE: what to get on my rc18t
good decision
sorry I decided to keep the tc3 I really could have used the money though lol I have a mamba 8000 in my rc18t and the all billit kit as well Its great I think you will enjoy it alot I have found that a stronger bumper (just for the hinge pins thing) is a good upgrade as that is the part I most often break I recomend the tbone one off 1/18.com Nick |
RE: what to get on my rc18t
i couldn't find any 5/16 compression sleeves, so i just wraped a narrow strip of duct tape tightly around my outdrives, its not pretty but they're not going anywhere.

where can i find this RPM bumper??
also what do the 5/16 compression sleeves do?? |
RE: what to get on my rc18t
you can find them at hobbytown.com or your LHS. at hobbytown.com, just search "RPM bumpers" and they are the 1st two selections to come up. no pics though. but dont worry it looks really cool on mine. They have the outdrive compression sleeves, but out of stock.. they re-stock really fast though. The outdrive compression sleeves keep the CVD-or-Dogbone from slipping out from the outdrive, (happends a lot with the RC18(m)t. hope this helps. I'll try to find a pic of the bumper and post it.

ORIGINAL: SirAIGman can anyone post a pic of how it looks when installed? and also explain to me how to install them? i am talking about the 5/16th compression sleeves. 1.) remove the front tire. 2.) remove the ball bearings......,etc. 3.) Remove the dogbone. 4.) slide the compression sleeves on over the outdrives. 5.) place the dogbone back in the "groove" in the outdrive, (where it sits in there). 6.) Put it all back together. |
