RE: So you want a mini....

i think they are relly good!!especially idf you run them off 8.4 ive done that loads with the standard speed controller and it barely gets warm. they have got quite a lot of power from a 380 exept i think its geared a bit on the long side. i think they are relly good value for what you get, there are a lot of aluminium parts etc!!

i found it. i know why people don't talk about it, cause its an exact copy of the mini quake. it looks pretty cool though.

Can i use safely a Kyosho 9.6v battery pack for kyosho stock mini inferno without the kyosho circuit protector that comes with the battery.....What engine to upgrade the stock one: Kyosho XS Speed or Speed 400?????Do you like more the inferno than the ST mini version????

RE: So you want a mini....

That battery will work just fine. I personally like the buggy version better.

The mini inferno st is under the ST section, since that is what Kyosho is labeling it as.

Have you thought about adding the TLT-1? It's designated by Tamiya to be 1/18 scale even though it may be slightly larger than other 1/18's. I'd also like to take this opportunity to say that the Mini Quake RTR and SE are both awesome trucks! I am baffled as to why they are not more popular as I have found them to be very quick and able four-wheel driven beasts! I finally got a Mini-T after seeing so much more written about it and have been very let down by its performance. I'm not trying to start anything and I realize they're different types of cars, but the RTR performance isn't even comparable! I say Duratrax gets an A+ on their Mini Quakes!

RE: So you want a mini....

Nope, I was messing with them the night before I left and came up with this awesome idea that has never been done before, so im kinda anxious to get back and mess with that, I think I may be on to something totally unique, as well as the fact Im curious to see the contents in my package from Driven Productions.

RE: So you want a mini....

Well it looks good but nothing new. It maybe fast but it is not competitive to brushless in this scale size. I HEARD [:@] the Nt18 from xray. It developes a loud screamie noise. Not possible to drive anywhere you want. I prefere brushless! Insane loudless speed.[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

RE: So you want a mini....

Inverted, This was the best comparison of models I have ever read. SWEET JOB!!! I have just started looking for a good starter RC for my 8 yr old son. He likes trucks, but I thought the best route would be the buggy since they are fast, agile, and seem to land on the wheels more often than not when flipping. I know basically nothing about electric RC's. I have had several gas one's and even though I had issues breaking them in and tuning at times I just couldnt get over the sheer power and speed. I did sell all of my stuff several years back and stopped since the hobby stores are so far away now for getting nitro fuel. Anyway, I have been a fan of the Inferno 7.5 and when I seen these mini's I figured perfect for starters. We have a huge open basement for racing in the winter and their size is great for a really universal car. I have had lots of Q's about batteries, ESC, motors. I am not one who likes to get stuff just to get it, that = wasted money. I need to get high quality upgrades, doesnt have to be the most expensive but the best bang for the buck so to speak. So if there are any suggestions on batteries, motor, ESC, transmitter or helpful info for the mini inferno I would like to hear it. Thanks again for the extensive mini info list, Inverted. GREAT HELP!!!!

RE: So you want a mini....

The mini inferno comes RTR, however the stock electronics aren't that great. You can make them really fast, but it depends on how much space you have. For the mini inferno you will want aluminum shocks and a ball bearing kit right out of the box as the performance is pretty unimpressive without it. You will also want an improved battery. I highly suggest you take a look at the Duratrax Vendetta, it comes with a decent amount of hop-ups out of the box, and has the one year warranty. It's a great performer and upgrades are cheap. Once again it all depends on where you run it, there are super fast brushless systems, but that might be too much for a basement. Let me know which car you decide on then I can help you, although I do reccomend a browse at the Vendetta. Team Associated also makes a nice buggy, the RC18B. I appreciate the thread comments, although it needs an update I keep neglecting.:)
