all my ESC are borken :(
 

well all my cars are not working for my ESC are broken..

my ESC on my rc18r just randomly fried for no reason
and my mamba my lil bro crashed into me and the fan busted off a chip and the tabs are broken and i emailed CC and asked them if they could ship me that small chip...

Those are surface mounted IC's and transistors. I would send it to CC before trying to fix it myself.

I have to agree with snipin they may be using a certain type of solder and temp a normal iron may blow out the component.

yea .... they wont ship me that piece of electronic becasue they say they cant do it ..... and said that maybe something else was wrong...when i clearly know that that piece fell off ...

w.e that wasnt the good customer support i thought they would offer ...

time to buy the sidewinder

You will have to mail the ESC back to Castle. They will asses the damage, and (worst case) possibly charge a small fee for repair or replacement.

they are charing me $30 for soldering that 1 component ....

and i know that was the only thing that was broken ..and they kept trying to tell me that something else could ve broke..

Well there could have been a short due to the connection being lost there. I would just send it to them. It's still cheaper then buying a new ESC.

naw .. there was no short for sure

the tabs were broken.... the esc still worked but there was MASSIVE cogging with out that small piece of electronic haha

i have to get a new one for my recoil ....and fix the old one for rc18r ...

my recoil china one fried itsself in the FIRST PIC haha

5 min running fine ... thhen stops ...coggs ...and POOFF ! big cloud of smoke

Send the CC esc to CC for warranty or repair and let them take care of you. It would still be cheaper and if it fries I bet it falls under warranty. You should have known asking for free parts from them was gonna get you squat.

And yes, if you broke or fried one component you could have very easily shorted out or fried another one on the circuit board.

They aren't charging you $30 for soldering that one chip, they are charging you $30 for a new ESC which to me doesn't sound like too bad a deal.

It isn't worth their man hours to trouble shoot a broken ESC when they can just put another one in a package and send it to you!
