ESC for Mini-DT+Charger/Batteries

What is a good replacement ESC for the Mini-DT truck. I'd like to be able to run the stock motor but I will upgrade if that's not a possibility. I'd also like to know about batteries I could use to up the performance of the truck and chargers I'd need to use them.

You'll need a new radio as well if you switch the esc out.

I'd say get a Castle Sidewinder Micro, it can run either brushed or brushless motors, you can get the motor later.

I have a radio I can use. I'm getting a 3PKS though. Where does the receiver get power from though? Also for a charger. Is the LOSB9603 Losi Li-Po charger good?

Edit: Any soldering iron recommendations?

Where does the receiver get power from though? The Receiver draws its power from the battery through the ESC using the built in BEC (battery eliminating circuit) that most of the systems have. In fact I can't think of one that doesn't have a BEC anymore.
Not sure on the charger question though, never had one of Losi's chargers. One thing you want to be sure about with a Li-Po charger is that it is capable of balancing the cells as they are being charged. If not you will need to get a external balancer to equalize the cells. The second option will cost more, I use two different Li-Po chargers that cost under $50, They serve double duty charging my flight packs for my planes as well as my car cells. One is from Turnigy Accucell-6 available through Hobbycity and the other is the Supermate 4 from Polks Hobby. Both are DC only chargers and require the use of a DC power supply.

Hope this helped......

just for grins, here's a vid of my mini-dt from Friday when it was 10F out. This is with the 5400kv brushless setup, 15/60 gearing, Propulse chevron tires all the way around, etc.

What can I use for a power supply? I like that Turnigy.

I have one of these and one of the 10 amp versions. They are rock solid, reliable and safe.
