yeah, the max amps batts are way overpriced imo... I am never buying another one.. plus they have hyperion tap on them which I had to get an adapter for to charge the thing with my charger (which has Align taps). I am going with Zippys from now on... they perform great and priced so well!

I think they are they same? As peelin out said can anyone plese confrim it before i order?
No, the slash springs are NOT the same!! You want tan http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_...?keywords=7147 and black http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_...?keywords=7148. The e-revo spring rates are about double what the slash rates are. The slash has about half the tire/wheel weight to control, so doesnt need as heavy springs as the e-revo....

The stock oil is 45 wt, so yes thats what you would want to refill the fronts if you are happy with the damping now, but I would go heavier, 50 or 55 and 65 in the rear if you run two batt's.... Thats where I plan to start anyway

Don't know much about Rhino's. That is a stellar deal. What do you do for balancing connectors? I've always been happy with MaxAmp products and the customer service is great. Their packs have always lasted me a very long time. I don't mind paying more for quality. If Rhino's are a good pack I might have to check them out.
This was the argument that sold me.......Everything has a finite service life. Let's ASSUME MaxAmps lasts longer than Rhino batteries. For the $75 spent on 1 MaxAmps Lipo, I could get FIVE Rhino Lipos. As your 1 MaxAmp Lipo ages, it losses power and duration. Of course the same happens to the Rhinos. NO ONE HERE COULD SAY that MaxAmps Lipos last 5x longer than Rhinos. On this forum we would say it last the same or no more than 2x. Thus while your MaxAmp Lipo is struggling to maintain power and duration, a year from now, you'll have 3 NEW Rhino's waiting to be used. By the same token, the 2 New Rhinos that were already used gave you more sustained fun than the slowly aging MaxAmps. It's like getting booster shots!

I don't expect you to buy 5 Rhinos at one time.....but maybe 3 or 4 to double your Revo sessions and pocket the money saved! With the $150 you spent on MaxAmps, you get 1 session and an empty wallet:D

All Rhinos have balance/charging leads. I just hook-up an Astroflight $20 balancer and charge directly at the + & - . I'm sure there are adapters for your set-up. I hope I answered your question.

I agree, i bought 6 Flightmax Zippy 1800 2s packs that kosted me 92$inkl shipping to Sweden. I have used some Maxamps in my bigger trucks and they are not in my opinion worth the extra money, there are packs that are better for less money. But, they arnt bad at all!

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

as far as age goes, if you treat a lipo well, it should last you years... I know people who fly planes with 5+ year old batteries they still use and they work great.. I have several el cheapo lipos I got off ebay two years ago which still work great.. I mean, I guess it's good to get a high quality item which a good company behind it, in that respect paying the extra for Max Amps is worth it I suppose.. but ymmv.. I guess it's can be a combination on what you have a budget for and are willing to deal with.

Hey guys, has anybody had any experience running 1/10th foams with dual Nimh batteries in series? What would be the best gearing for it. I was thinking that the smaller size of the tires might 'gear' it down enough to still use the stock pinion(28t I think). Any thoughts?

5+ year old Lipos working great? (Do those batteries have balance tabs?) It must not be a project that stretches performance or stresses the system. I have 3 year old 3S and 4S that I luge around as secondary batteries after the jolt of the newer ones are done. I generally agree though, if you take care of your lipos, they will take care of you. Still I will not be paying $75 for a Lipo when I can get a comparible one for $15. The only time I spend more for Lipos are only on a few of my plane & Heli projects where WEIGHT & SIZE are crucial. To me, Thunderpowers offer the best size to power to weight ratios.....BUT not price.

On a different subject.....I checked the New/Updated offering from Team Losi 1/18th scale; The Mini-LST2 Limited Edition RTR: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...dId=LOSB0217LE

Not due until later this month! (Can't Wait!)- With the furer of the Revo VXL and excitement of the Vendetta and Mini Hyper STe what will be the upgrades for the MLST2 to compete? Widertrack with upgraded suspension?, BL motor or fortified transmission?, New Body? or more Aluminum Bling? NO!

What you get for $220 is A BLACK PAINT SCHEME TO THE OLD BODY, A 7.4V 1000mAh 2S LiPo battery as apposed to the NiMH (I swapped for lipo as soon as I bought my first MLST 3yrs ago), Mini-Torquer chrome dish wheels with mounted Mini-Duplex tires- Ok so the rims and tires look different and FINALLY a Losi radio system with Spektrum 2.4GHz DSM technology! And get this, were lucky.....the suggested retail price was $299...I saved nearly $80! Why would I ever invest $40 of the $80 dollars I saved for a NEW Mini E-Revo VXL. TEAM LOSI....YOUR GENIUSES!

Actuality, Its nothing new and its NOT in response to the mini e-revo. Its just old stock with a new body. This one used to be the Mini Monster Baja. It was a Mini LST2 with different wheels/tires(better in my opinion) and a lipo battery. Unlike the raminator/ramunition lst2 based trucks, it kept the metal R&P gears, aluminum shocks, and 2.4Ghz radio. (I got one when they had the bug body) You might have noticed some months ago EVERY RC with a volkswagon bug body suddenly disappeared.... I don't know the specifics, but it appears the bodies weren't licenced and volkswagon threw a fit so the rc's were pulled. Well now losi has all these kits with bug boys they cant sell. The Mini-T based "mini-baja" came out first as a 'limited edition' black mini-t body (quite a while before the mini e-revo), and now they have the "mini Monster Baja" out with a limited edition black Mini LST2 body....

On the left is my Mini Monster Baja with a Raminator Body(recognize the wheels), on the right is my mini quake with the Mini Monster Baja body

Yes, the one I saw did... Align taps on it.. Anyways.. I agree the Zippy lipos are too hard not to use at that amazing price point... they are good batts also..

Not for anyone that wants to win. To get around the track fast you need to get past the jump and back on the ground as fast as possible. To do flips you need extra airtime for the rotations....

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

I've searched this thread and forum as well as a bit on youtube. How fun is the mini e-revo in the grass? Most of my run times are in medium length lawn and I would hate to dump the cash out for one of these guys to be bored in the yard. I see the speed videos on pavement and then there are a couple in the grass but even then videos can be deceiving when it comes to speed. I never get a real feel for how big of a yard they are being run in and how much fun they really would be. For bashing in the yard, much fun?

dacaur 07-12-2009 06:09 PM

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

I would say its about 1/2 - 2/3 speed in the grass, more or less depending on length. That said, i would say its more fun on grass than pavement, because it doesn't roll as easy. Its definitely faster than your typical mini on the grass, in my opinion, the tires work pretty good, but with a tire change to something like masher 2000's (I know they don't make them in 1/18 scale, but something similar would be good) it would definitely be better.

I have not had any problems with it thermaling in the grass on 2 stock packs run in parallel, but the motor is definitely hotter after running in grass than on pavement. Definitely don't do series packs on grass!!

If you know you are going to run mostly in grass, you actually want to gear down a little and it will go faster. The stock gearing is more biased toward speed than power, I would say throw on the speed pinion but keep it at 7.2 or 7.4 volts and it will run cool in the grass, and probably be faster than the stock gearing (but only in the grass)

On my mini quake, when I went down 2 teeth on the pinion from stock, the speed in grass about doubled, while I only lost a couple MPH on pavement...

In all honesty though, if you can afford it, 1/10 scale 4 wheel drive is the way to go in grass. Personally I cant afford to drop $200+ on batteries for a 1/10 electric, so 1/18 - 1/16 is what I run for electric, and 1/8 for nitro :D

Aloha Flyer 07-12-2009 07:52 PM

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

DACAUR gave a thorough answer to the grass question. To me it comes down to SPEED and then CLEARANCE.
If it looks fast on pavement but has car styled clearance (1cm or under), the drag will not make it fun in the grass.
However, if it's fast on pavement and has 2CM and up of clearance, Less drag means there is fun to be had.

All bets are off if you keep your lawn like the Floriida Everglades! :D

Adjustble pushrods for the E-Revo VXL 1/16

By Thomas Pettersson

To this date i have been using ball-ends and hollow balls for the Stampede, they are trimemd to fit and working ok. To bad when the car compress they bind when the car flatsot...somthing like a swaybar...

I stoped by the LTD (local traxxas delaer) and did find some real nice stuff.

Parts that will be needed.

-DU-BRO Ballends/swivels #369 2/56 - 4/40
-Short AE turnbuckles 45mm (im using FT)
-Longer AE Turnbuckles 51mm (same as above)
-Drill 3mm
-Drill 2.5mm
-Plier protect the "mouth" with some tape

Parts:

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/DSC_0031.jpg

Take out the ball, use the 2.5mm drill to get bigger hole

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/DSC_0033.jpg

The little washer that follow must be drilled to, they are used @ the rockers

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/DSC_0038.jpg

You have to drill app 6mm in the ball"stud" when you use short turnbuckle for pushrod so you can screw them together tight. Use the 3mm drill

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/DSC_0039.jpg
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/DSC_0040.jpg

When this is done, all you have to do is mount everything on the car..

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/DSC_0044.jpg

As you can see @ the rockerarm i am using the little washer, it must be mounted on "top", it is tight, litle force but it will work.:p

FRONT

REAR TOE LINK (same as steering)

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

Hi there I was looking to purchase the mini erevo or slash but I have alot of questions. *First of all how long does it take to charge the stock battery on 1.5amps.
*How durable is the lilbeast? I saw someone split there truck in half[:o]
*How well does it handle? I once had an rc18t and a mamba 25 with 8000kv motor running on 6cells. was handful I kinda hated it
*How prone to flipping is this thing?
*Whats more stable the slash or the ervo? I realize the erevo is wider but the slash is lower
*Say 1/8th scale vs 1/16th which is funner in your opinion
*Is it possible to get the roller erevo for under 200?
*How well does the vehicle perform with the 380 motor?
*Will the mamba 25 system work?
*Lastly how durable is the drivetrain on 12 cells?

Thanks
