OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

Ok well many of you are going to be getting them soon. So i thought i would start a thread. I know there was a theada while back, but i couldnt find it. I wentback as far as the 37 page. Anywaysi ordered mine from horizon so i should have mine next week somtime. But for all of you who might get them before hand, talk about them and tell us how you like them. I personally want to know how they handle, how they jump, andhow fast they go stock withone battery and then with both ni-mh`s. And when i get mine, i will tell you the advantages and disadvantages.</p>

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

Mine should be here Monday , I have a feeling these are gonna be huge ! From the videos so far it seems too be an exact replica of the 1/10 E REVO which everybody knows is a great truck .

I am just hoping that they get the parts support going quickly .

Where are you at in IL ? I have a backyard track that is decent for 1/8 trucks but is awesome for the smaller scales , I live in Genoa , its a small town just north of DeKalb .

I am always looking for people too run with , the only rule is if youre under 18 you need a parent to come with .

There is also a track for electric R/C's in Marengo , a town just west of Huntly IL , they hold Slash races there .

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

Ok thanks for the invite. I am under 18, and i can`t drive. But me and my dad might be able to come sometime this summer. He is also into the hobby. He just like helicopters and airplanes more. But he does have a few rc cars/trucks. We live in town so our backyard is obvisouly too small for a track, and the city would not allow it. I have quite a few cars and trucks. I was really close to buying a slash, but when i heard about the mini e-revo i decided to hold off so i can save up for that instead. I have an savage x, a hopped up vendetta, a mini lst2 (which i am getting ready to sell), a micro desert and a micro raminator (i want to sell the raminator as well), and last but not least i have a associated 1/10 10t.

how much are these?

micro guy 06-12-2009 03:32 PM

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

The mini revo is $300 and the mini slash is $290. KRO i just did a search on map quest and it said it would take us 4 hours and 25 minutes to get there. And as you probobly know that is just too far to go [:o].

Ya same with me. I mean there was a small track like 15 minutes away, but they closed it. That was like 3-4 years ago.

Anyways back to subject. Who all has already ordered their`s? And when do you think you will get it? I am really curious and i want to see one run. Well besides the vid on traxxas website. Thats getting old. Or who knows maybe i will get to see for myself before there are vids of them.

I just ran my mini e-revo for the first time-UNBELIEVABLE-coolest thing ever. I ran it straight from the box and was amazed-smiled ear to ear. FAST FAST cuts across grass great. I bought the extra battery for the extra speed and I have no idea how it will even be controlable. Coolest RC I own out of six.

how good does it handle ?? what kinda punch do you have with the stock bat. and what is it geared from the box ??

redfisher1974 06-13-2009 10:13 PM

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

stock gears out of box are 28t pinoin 50 spur......Thats for one battery when you go to two batteries you are to change the pinion to the optional one,it's a 23t pinion...comes in the box..I guess the 28 would be way too much with 14.4v....would be cool to do one speed pass with the stock pinion and two bats. would break 60mph i would think.

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

i got mine yesterday. I said the hell with the 6 hour charger and i used my regular charger. And im so happy i sold my nitro revo. Its def worth $300

Some things i like:

Its a great size. Bigger than my vendetta st. Its close to a 1/15 or 1/14 scale.
Its very light
Tons of power.
I like the option for a second servo
2 battery trays

Some things i dislike:

Shocks are a little small..
Battery trays hit back tire making it hard to open

And thats pretty much it. The power is awsome for a stock truck. i cant even imagine it on 2s..

I hope parts come in soon though.

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

UPS has mine out for delivery today - woohoo!

From the videos I've seen and the posts I've read, I think anything much beyond two 2S LiPo's in parallel just gives you a straight line dragster. I am interested in some track running and unless the ESC on these things is truly linear, using a series rather than parallel set-up sounds insane for a track.

Anyone else agree, disagree?

Oh, yeah, it's raining here today, but who cares!

I only got to run it for about 2 minutes on one batt cause irts late. But my Rx is in and teh deans plugs in and teh series connector made.So now its just drive it and start changing the oil in the shocks.

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

OK, UPS delivered yesterday and this is one sweet little truck! It appears well designed and assembled, but the durability of the tie rods and turnbuckles remains to be seen. I only had time to make two runs with a single stock battery and am very impressed with the speed, turning response, and turning radius. The ESC is better than I thought, but could still use a smoother linear response.

Today I plan to take it to the beach and check it out with two stock 1200mAh batteries wiredin parallel. In the short time I had to run last night, this 1/16 E-Revowas an absolute blast to run. I've got some 2200mAh 2S LiPo's coming by slow boat from China and look forward to seeing how much difference there is between the stock batteries, other than what should obviously be a longer run time.

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

I am sure I will also want to experiment with shock oils, and I do understand the various viscosity levels. I also anticipatethe need to experiment with the shock springs because of the different terrainsI will be running in (sand, hard-packed tracks, road, grass, etc.), but I amconfused. Can someone decode for me the stiffness relationship among the Red, Green, Tan, and Black shock springs available for the mini E-Revo?

it8ezbngrn 06-19-2009 01:55 PM

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

tan and black should be stiffer.
Anyone see the use of the extra gear ? I know what it says, but that would be gearing down. gear down to run 14.4V? Its a smaller pinion right thas what is says in the manual.

redfisher1974 06-19-2009 02:20 PM

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

Yeah its smaller so you are not overgeared and run to hot......if you left the stock one on you would hit 60mph but melt the esc and batts.

Ok, well i should be getting it today! I calledhim and no one answered. That could be a good thing becasue that could mean that he is on his way to horizon to pick it up! Well that`s what i am hoping for. But i thought that`swhat i thoughton tuesday and that was not the case. So i don`t know when i will be getting it? Let`s just hope that i get a call in the next few hours;and then i will go pick it up! But i am not going to get my hopes up.

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

i got to fondle one at the LHS yesterday! aside from the fake adjustable turnbuckles and VERY small battery trays, i was throughly impressed by the overall design and apparent build quality! these things really exceeded my expectations and i had a hard time walking out of the store without one in a bag!

its ashame the battery boxes are so small... it seems like they could have made them big enough to fit much larger capacity cells had they not built the compartments around 2/3a stick packs! nimh is on the way out in the rc realm. if the decision were up to me, i would have build the battery boxes as large and rectangular as possible and then maybe included some foam support adaptors for nimh. my 2ΒΆ fwiw
