I'm in the same boat. Other hobbies have been monopolizing my time for the past couple of years so that's why you guys haven't seen any build threads from me. What I have built have been rubber free flights which don't really fit in this forum. But the old "itch" is coming back. For now I need to keep it simple though since I don't have a shop in the new house yet. The renos to the basement and garage to produce shop areas will keep me occupied for the next few months. But there's still that itch to do SOMETHING!
In my case I'm looking at a couple of Swedish old tyme free flight gliders converted to RC. Or it may just be time to finally make that Laumer Twin Lizzie that I've always promised myself.

with me it's house projects eating up my time, right now it's building a tile shower stall. I've had the itch, just can't decide on a project. I have a half finished, RCM Corsair, HOB P-51, and a scratch built Ace Messerschmitt that just needs covering and radio. But I've been wanting to do something my own, but what? I'm kind-of wanting to do a Baby Ringmaster with one of the old cox product engines...teach my seven year old some control line. And with all the tiny gear available now I think something new for the old Tee Dee .020 would be fun, but as much as I hate to not use an engine, I'm no collector(...I still fly my McCoy .40 on a ringmaster) Where I live and fly now is sandy, and I sure hate to think of my only .020 eating East Texas sand! Especially when electric junk in this size is so cheap.

Ive been in the same boat - not enough time for the hobby since I had my house built - I've been out flying glow power 5 times this year. [&o]
One of the simplest wings I've ever worked with is the one used on the Q-Tee, S-Tee, Prairie Canary, Kadito, Square Soar glider, RCM Jerry Sport, Bridi Trainer 05, etc. Who ever did the original basic design came up with a winner since it appears that several designs in RCM used the same basic wing. Why not start with that basic wing design and just start building your own design as you go along.
It's easy to modify the trailing edge for ailerons, and can easily be lengthened as required. The rib is got to be the easiest to duplicate, and with the use of a small router and table saw lots of them can knocked out in a hurry - other than the topside curve, the bottom, LE, TE and spar are all straight 90 deg. cuts. Can't be any easier than that.

Rog... I read somewhere in these threads where the guy just glued [elmers] balsa sheets together to make a stack of ribs, and when dry just cut out the ribs and spar notch and lightening holes... sand to final shape then soaked the 'block' in a bucket of water so they would come apart. Lay on a cookie sheet and put in 200* oven, turn the oven off, and come back tomorrow for a set of goos ribs. Of course, all ribs must be non-tapered. Or was that just CP 'funning' us?

Yuu, I've done that with a kids glue stick, but you have to work fast and peel them apart BEFORE the glue dries,,I think thats the bag of ribs that I found already... at this point I have no shop anymore,, most of it went to auction after my father passed....Rog

Rog, I wouldn’t call that a warp. It’s only normal to have to adjust the washout.
Only problem is that nowadays with plastic wrap it takes three hands. Two to hold the wing and a third to hold the heat gun. I remember (and bet you do to) the old stick and tissue models. Bring the teakettle to a full boil and pass the wing over the spout. Only took two hands back then.
Cheers, al
