After seeing Tom B's Mini Pulse & seeing it fly; I had to have one!

No doubt the nut behind the sticks had a lot to do with the impressive fights  but stil..... It sure is a great looking electric sport plane. Got a 450 outrunner & all the other goodies coming for it. E Flite sells a quality product at a reasonable price.
Finally got my Great Planes F86 flying. Turned out to be a bad connection in the harness connecting the Anylink to the Spektrum tx. Neat little airplane! Fun at high speed but you gotta remember there's no propwash on the control surfaces so slow flight is sluggish.

It Needs some Castor Slime on it's belly.. Then it's a cool airplane.

How old fashioned of you Steve. Flicking props is only for us oldguys now, the 1/2AForumseems tobebecoming an electric one.
Doesn't RCU already have aforum for the electrophiles?
Nice looking model plane BTW, even if it is powered by the Prince of Darkness.

Don't worry about Kevin. He's one of the few of us left that knows how to start a glow or diesel engine.

Believe me, Kevin is no stranger to flicking props. He flies 1/2A FF, CL, and RC. Has the largest collection of Cox FF toys I've seen, and actually flies them instead of just collecting. I realize that he posted about an electric plane but it was in the SMALL thread. Electric flight is part of the SMALL culture. He is one of the longtime die-hards who attends the event regularly and flies from dawn to dusk while there. Most of his flights begin by flicking .049s to life. I travel a long way to attend the event to fly with like-minded Cox noise-makin' crazies like Kevin.

With that said, I agree it would be a neat model covered in slime.

Hey now.....Lucas does NOT make electric model airplane equipment....

Even though it is not 1/2A, I am of the firm opinion that cross pollination of electric and 1/2A model tech, designs and info is great for both aspects of the hobby. Would be very cool if someone cloned the Mini Pulse XT in a slightly smaller size for 1/2 A power . Would make a great model.

Kevin, Bob Selman had to have one of those as well... His is finished as well.

Am vacationing in Virginia Beach, VA for a week. Brought along the Mini Pulse and a Multiplex Merlin (which would make another cool little 1/2 A model conversion) in a converted Plano hard shell golf club case. Both traveled great as airline baggage and I got in three flights on each model this morning with a group of electric flyers here in Virginia Beach this AM.

Only 49 weeks left until SMALL 2013!

I have been absent for a bunch of years from the SMALL meet. The last one I attended I THINK was the 2007 in Wrightsville. Now that I'm cured (cancer just in case you were wondering) I'm hoping to be coming to the next one in 2013. So, is it still at Wrightsville?

Thanks,
Nick in Fort Smith, AR

I'll chime in, even though I don't have a concrete answer: The last few definitely were in Wrightsville.

Didn't want to leave you hanging, get to planning that trip!

I know this thread is about the 2012 S.M.A.L.L but I'm now planning to go to the 2013 event and have a question for those who've attended in the past: Do they still allow 72mhz radios or do I have to go out and buy 2.4 to be able to fly R/C there?

Thanks

Tim

72 is ok. They have freq pins there. With most folks using 2.4, there is rarely a wait for a pin these days.

Or you can fly free flight. You will be amazed at what you see.
