Plane for a Pee Wee?
#1

Looking at all suggestions for an every day, easy to take to the field, 3 or 4 channel Pee Wee powered plane.
What have you flown in the past that you would make another?
Any "That would make a nice model project"?
A scaled down....??. Something that flies well in its larger size??

1 of many possible choices and genres.

This could be anything from a hot flying 19 inch Littlest Ugly Stik up to a slow and lazy 40 inch powered glider. What sort of flying style, performance and flying speed are you looking for? And what sort of look?

How about the Dare Models - Oriole. It is a free flight model designed for the Pee Wee, but I am going to use a TD .020 with a throttle sleeve ( your design ). It will handle the R/C gear well.

Dick's Dream or Skampy are both great flying Owen Kampen designs. I have built both and am currently flying my Skampy single channel just like the old days but with modern radio gear.
Plans for both can be found here: http://my.pclink.com/~dfritzke/index.html

I'm planning on scaling down a sig hummer for 020 size. Probably go TD though. Pee wee is fun on a wee stick, might be better low wing though. As long as you keep it in the 5oz and under league they perform good.

Dick's Dream has already been mentioned-and very good if built with the built up wing as per the Dave Fritzke site CAD (the original Ace one is a tad heavy with the foam wing......)-another to consider is the Peck Mini Bell -a 25" miniature of the 'Liberty bell'-which goes very well with the Pee Wee (or 010 for that matter). I've also flown the RCM&E 'Triplet' (many years ago! ) which is something in between a power model and a powered glider at 40" span.....there's also the fairly recently kitted Blackhawk Nova-but at 48" and single channel its probably abit sedate.....

I believe the Peck Mini Bell is out of production and no longer available. However I have a good friend with one and flies it with three channels including throttle. The Pee Wee on his Mini Bell throttles very well and the plane is an excellent flyer, a very nice combination.
well with the demise of the model division of A2ZCorp, ALL Peck Polymer stuff is out of production-however the Mini Bell WAS in production till fairly recently-as the laser cut kit, and is a fairly easy scratch build from the plan-somewhere on line there must be a scan of the original kit plan.....hippocket? outerzone? I don't think Dave Fritzke has it.....
Another one also worth a look is the Ace Pocket Rocket-which flies nicely on a G-Mark Hummingbird..... (or a Schlosser....)

I built a Top Flite Roaring 20 for my Pee Wee.
I removed the throttle ring to fly it, rudder/elevator only.
I downloaded the plan from Outerzone & modified it with a
fully sheeted wing as per the original kit.

Hi skaliwag. My Top Flite School Boy flew great with a Pee Wee as the power source. I have a set of plans and plan to build another one. It had plenty of power. Its a nice looking little plane, but I am a fan of Ken Willards designs so I am a bit prejudiced. There are some of his plane/plans on the outerzone site

I have a Mini Bell kit, I'd be happy to scan and post plans.
You could just scale down the Jr Falcon and be right in the ballpark though.
Another PeeWee friendly kit is the Pocket Rocket, mine flew pretty well on the mighty PeeWee.

I also want to do this. Something easy and small to carry to the field. I was thinking a Small Micro Bee could be fun, or a Wee stik.
Or, What about a half size Blink!!!!

I have been enjoying my current .020 plane its a great low cost project light enough to withstand crashes / the wind is the thing you have to find a design that can afford to fly on most days without being grounded that means up to 15 mph winds. Of course if you like getting up early in the morning then should be good to go with a throttled floater.

Could do a tribute plane - Jim Walker Design
Zippy enough for the wind and can put put about on throttle on a calm day up close in your face flying .2 to 5ch - flaps flatter wing even bi plane version could be easy to mod. Or set up for stunt acro speed flying.
Fireball

I like this- scaled to suit the .020
