Default Lets see your Goldberg Ranger 42!

I bought this Ranger 42 a few years ago from an old man who was thinning out his collection for $20. It had an 049 on it which I sold on ebay. I had planned on selling the plane too but it seems to be a collector's item among 1/2A fans. I have decided to hang on to it as it is a really neat little old plane.
Recently I planned on doing an electric conversion and add Ailerons but once I got it out of the attic and looked it over I just decided to keep it original and put it away again. Maybe when the Grandkids get older I could train them on it.
I'd like to see your ranger!

Ok, here's mine. Story is I was at a yard sale, and the gentleman had a couple of planes. They were both in boxes, and this was in an Ace GLH box. So, I opened the box and saw this fuselage. He made a price and I bought both, only to realize when I got home it was in fact, NOT a GLH. My bad, but I was just happy when I saw this old thing in a box, I never realized it. So, it turned out to be this Ranger 42. It was just a bare fuselage only, and with the help of a generous person, it now has new tail feathers. I just have to source out a wing cutter locally to try and make a wing now. Anyways, here it is as it sits now.

I remember looking at those kits when I first got into the hobby and telling myself that I'd never get so deeply involved with such complicated RC models.

It was real early in my RC career - maybe model #4 or #5 - when I built one of these with a Medallion .09 cl and two channel Cox/Sanwa AM gear. 7-4 TF nylon and our local "Apollo 15" fuel as I recall. I remember these things, but not where i left my wallet.

Sorry, I can't post a pic of mine - I filtered it through a tree many years ago!

They did turn into small bits readily on impact. I didn't strain one of these through a tree, but I did that spectacularly with a .60 powered SIG Komander. Let it snow..
