Norvel- P-47 question
I'm building a House of Balsa P-47 thunderbolt and neeed to know what engine to use. I plan on 4 channel with mini servos.
What engine should I use? Will a Norvel .061 Big Mig R/C engine fly it? I don't know what the final weight will be at this time.
Thanks, Wayne

Norvel- P-47 question
I graphically pulled up the H.O.B. P-47 by Don Dombrowski and fit a Norvel 074 in to where the Cox is located. Looks as though you will have to move the firewall back about 3/4 inch to clear the muffler and the cylinder head. Ground clearance looks to be enough to clear an 8 inch diameter prop. The fuel tank may be in the way of the engine throttle. The lower engine cooling vent will have to be opened up, and the lower access block made smaller. You may also have some CG problems, as the Norvel weighs in a bit more.
