THE 'dAWG L19 cessna
Hey RC Gang i was ask by a few to start a thread on adding a glow motor to a L19 cessna/the DAWG" lol ok so bear!grrrr with me because its my first thread on showing how i did the job and telling how it was done lol
First i pick the plane i have talk about on here for awhile now my
cessna L19 Birddog electric version came as a ARF balsa and ply just add your motor and gear but we are going to add a fuel tank and glow motor
3 channel
3 servos
1 rudder
1 flap
1 for carb
wing span 44
length 29
weight 560 grams
tools needed
sharp razor knife
CA glue
1/4 foam
fuel tank i used a hayes slim line 2 oz tank
fuel line rubber
drill
motor mount i used a ajustable one other words two peice mount for a .10 motor
motor now plane can take from a .061 to a .15 motor you choose
i decided on a os max.10fp but i have tryed a AP wasp.061 work fine a little slow but fine for a trainer
Bolts i used are 4-40x1 and 4-40x1/2 plus nuts and washers 4 each
The fire wall is mark all ready from the factory as seen in this pic of the front of the L19 with a + sign on it
And the digram in the other picture shows were to center the motor mount on the fire wall first step do not install fuel tank tell motor and mount is in place and linkage rod for carb is in place

RE: THE 'dAWG L19 cessna
The reason i picked the hayes slim line tank is because when the motor is in place and bolted up and carb linkage rod hooked up the tank will off set not like some plane were the tank fits right up to the motor tight i mean the sim line is only 3/4 inchs wide fits great for any motor from a .061 up to a .15 this plane has plenty of room under the dash lol to add your tank it stands upright not like a flat style tank when motor is in place the tank fits to the left side like a glove
in the about right picture is were the fuel tank is place now cant see it now but its there and the center servo is for the linkage for the carb a hole was drilled after the motor was placed on the plane and then the linkage was added.
